Only pro I went up against was Steve Atkins rb when I was at stafford high school . I was safety on defense and RB on offense . I had lots of speed but no size 5. 7. 145 lbs , Atkins was nearly 200 lbs . Got a few tackles on him till I went to the matador defense

We played Roosevelt.

DC and PG County were much different than VA. You are correct it did not take a lot to start a fight and you learned early you had to be ready for that ore get bullied on a regular basis.

Fredericksburg in the 80s had about 25 people living there, not sure if dad was still there or not. Not that there weren't a few big ole farm boys there. I still go to Fredericksburg fairly often.

What college did you play at chill? What DII school did you coach at skinz? Maybe we know some of the same people.

I played D3 football. You dont know the school.

I lived in Fredericksburg from 1962 - 1986 . Wasn’t aware of sports scene till about 1970

I played D3 football. You dont know the school.
You might be surprised, I know a lot of college programs. There is a pretty DIII programs not real far away. Salisbury and Wesley College in Dover. The younger of my two nephews that played college ball was told not interested by Salisbury. He played DII ball in college until he had a compound fracture. Matt Rhule invited him for try outs at Temple. I love DII and DIII football ... those guys are playing because they love the game. Very few pros and very few scholarships.

Fight stories are good. You were go to fight whether you wanted to or not where I grew up. It was up do you how you dealt with it. Sounds like you hoodlums were so different than Parsons .... which was my point in the first place. :suds: :pound:

Well then, maybe dad can enlighten you on the 80's days in the Burg. Most late sunny afternoon weekdays ended like this... "pull up to a light after school in Spotsy or d'twon F'burg or Stafford which is just a few miles up Rt 1 with your music blaring to AC/DC, look over at the car pulled up next to you and realize the two derelicts in the car next to you resemble HS dudes your age. The next motion was a point to the nearest parking lot to settle things up because you knew they didn't go to your school. Won some, lost some but it was the way back then. Happened quite often (for me anyways) because i liked showing my car off. :dhd: BTW, we never played Stafford, N. Stafford, Potomac, W'bridge, SWJ etc until my Sr year having been moved to AAA for some strange reason after winning the state champ the previous year. We ran the table. :suds:

I'm getting so hyped for this draft, he will push down talent or we will consider him.
I was very curious about St. Brown, looks like a solid 2nd rounder. Every time i get excited for z Collins, bateman or parsons, another great options presents itself

Sounds like you grew up in the hood. I am glad you survived it. Were you a Soc or a Greaser?

That is great that your HS football team was awesome for their division. I didn't need to be schooled on FBurg, Spotsylvania, Orange County etc. Had family in Bealeton, Stafford and just south of Lake Anna as well as Roanoke area. Live in Tidewater - VA Beach area so I am pretty familiar. :suds:

Just telling the story sportster, don't take it as offensive. You had questioned how much football I had been around. My answer while not short indicated such. Didn't live the "nice" life you mentioned and not sure why you take those subtle little jabs. Grew up dirt poor in a single wide in Alexandria w/grand parents fighting for scraps man. Wasn't a soc or greaser or rumblefish or anything of the sort you suggest, just fought to survive like most of us who grew up in that area. Was nice to reminisce for a minute but enough of that. Also still have relative ties in Richmond. I left the area in '87 and never looked back. PNW living now for 30 years after leaving the military. If you would like to get along and discuss the WFT, great and I would love to accomodate. If you do not, great, I will not accommodate. If you want to continue showing your "internet toughness", and throwing innuendos around well, you likely will understand why I won't respond. Not butt hurt at all, just not a game player chasing around internet post trying to antagonize others because I read something I didn't like or agree with. Seems to go on alot around here and a waste of time. I'm saying this as respectfully as I can from one grown up to another. :suds:

I was respectful enough to leave the Cousins thing alone after having accused you of being a Cousins nut hugger of which I apologize and have moved on from. Hopefully you can also and we can continue talking about our beloved WFT. Peace!:suds:

Chill skinz ... I am a pot stirrer. Not to be a dick but to tease.

We all have a past, I wasn't there for yours and you weren't there for mine. All good. I played football too, on a bad team. I was lucky enough to watch my nephews play and to help coach on very good teams.

I am not here to be an internet tough guy. I don't take shit and apparently either do you. I am good with that. I appreciate you manning up. All the fight stories can be fun but also pretty violent so I mostly try to stay away from them. You don't hang out with some Renegades and DC Phantoms without seeing a few wild things. That was then and this is now. :suds:
