Yep, that type is truly taking over in the league and this team needs to keep up with the trend. You regularly watch the senior bowl, what prospects of that type are you looking at or want the team to look at?
  • Ian Book, Notre Dame
  • Sam Ehlinger, Texas
  • Feleipe Franks, Arkansas
  • Kellen Mond, Texas A&M
  • Jamie Newman, Wake Forest/Georgia
  • Kyle Trask, Florida
those are the qbs who committed to the sr. bowl

we should look at Trask to see if he can do things "off schedule " but right now i dont see him as a TH type

Sam Ehlinger is a guy who is off peoples radar but he is mobile , but he has BELOW AVG arm strength and his athletice traits might not be good enough . the sr bowl is where you determine that

ian book he isnt good in the pocket yet but he is mobile enough , has issues with deep ball accuracy . he is pretty close to TH but the sr bowl should tell us something

kellen mond could be that type of guy but again it all comes down to arm strength , decisions making , mobility . he has grown every year

jamie newman needs work in the pocket and on footwork but he does have the arm and mobility

franks looks like a Montez to me

al lof these guys are projects

I dont think we are going to draft a QB anymore. If we cant land Stafford RR should be fine with allen and TH

His arm is okay. He does not move very well. In the 2021 NFL Draft, that scouting report should not fill the Washington Football Team with confidence.

And that, in turn, has meant that to be an effective modern quarterback, you have to be able to move. in the modern NFL you have to have at least one of 2 things a big arm or be able to move . jones is accurate and makes good choices but i dont think his traits warrant a 1st round pick .

Think of the all the QBs in today’s NFL. Well, at least all the ones you consider to be quality starters. How many can not move?

Mac Jones can’t. And his arm isn’t good enough to bail him out of that deficiency.

this in of itself should tell you that jones isnt 1st round material as a real grade . its 2nd or 3rd round because top end qbs have to have top end level traits

that is the difference that pundits and others dont look at because the dont research in depth . they latch on to a cliche about qbs being picked high and forget about what happens when they fail

drafting jones in round 1 is a huge risk that if it fails you set the team back much further then botching a 2nd or 3rd rounder

you can draft a qb in the later rounds and see what happens

Why? If we dont get Stafford we have two young guys at QB. Im thinking WR or LB with pick #19

dean , i said later in the draft , meaning rounds 2-7 depending on value (not damn 19 ) . allen and TH still have questions as to whether they can take us to a superbowl and if drafting a qb every year is what needs to happen to find one then why not ?

Use those picks to build our team.

that is building our team , drafting a position we need . i am for drafting at least one LOS guy every year . i am for drafting a CB every year , and i am for drafting a qb every year till we get our guy . both allen and TH were late round choices our FA;s coming out

Peyton retired a couple of years ago but Brees and Brady couldn't move when they were younger so we know they haven't improved in that area.
