There is and should be but with concern. Haskins proved inexperienced in having one full season before turning pro. Could this happen to Lance? Would we give up assets to move up knowing full well he needs an additional year? Can this regime be patient enough to let him sit and learn behind Heineke for a season? As good as our defense will likely be and the competitiveness of our young core, we will be in many games next year. Will they resist the impulse to insert Lance too early? So many unknowns.

Lance is a wildcard. I'd rather trade up for Fields than give up a 2nd for Darnold. That being said, if there is a preseason I think Lance would beat out Heinicke and Allen.
