Nope.

It was always within context of trying to keep LeBron.

How could they trade Garland to keep LeBron when LeBron was already gone?

That is not what I said.
wrong.

you said that what the Cavs were building was just mediocre- so they should deal Garland and Sexton for picks- because picks at least had a chance on becoming high level players- when it was clear to you Sexton and Garland were not that.

Id be more than happy to find it for you if you insist on it.

Thunder have announced that Dort, Muscala and Jerome have all had season ending surgeries. I have my doubts that Giddey or Kenrich Williams will return either. The Pacers are trying to put a move on us for the 4th worst record.

SGA going to have to carry them to victories, which is possible but wouldn't be smart on his part. They have a top 5 pick wrapped up but I'm sure the goal is to get into that top 3. They could do that if the Pistons start winning. Shit, they could get to the worst record with all those injuries

We currently have 8 players out, I’m seeing guys I haven’t seen much. But SGA brings it every night and Pokusevski is actually starting to look like he can play a little. Mann is going to be in the league a long time I think. I think they have settled into the 4th spot, but of course they hope to get as lucky as they did unlucky last year.

Top 3, around a top 15 and the 30th pick. A lot of ammo to get more future 1st's

Ok, maybe I did say that.

Forgot that conversation.

And yet still?

Garland is awesome. Wake me up when he is the best player on a championship team.

You know I am a firm believer in the process style rebuilds for markets like Cleveland. They might have gotten lucky and gotten their best player 3 years after their first high pick.

Almost never happens that the early picks hit and the later pick becomes the superstar.

That entire discussion was also built around the idea that Cleveland needed to draft a superstar.

Which is true.

This is the kind of stuff the NBA used to justify meddling with the Sixers franchise.

unfortunately for Philly- I think the league office is less likly to act on OKC since its kind of a podunk no history franchise while the Sixers are, ideally for the league, somewhat of a flag carrier.

Well the 3 guys that are out for the season have had season ending surgery. Just last week the Thunder beat the Nuggets in Denver. No reason to even think about coming after the Thunder. And you can fuck off with that podunk talk asswipe.

Big win for CLE they needed before they hit a tough stretch. Garland with 40 and Mobley played great. They actually played defense in the 4th :L
Pacers were on fire all night
Huge W with what we have coming up. Could argue Garland and Mobley's best games as pros. Cannot say I saw it working, but the lineup with both Okoro and Stevens got us the stops we so badly needed.

didn't even notice the boneheaded foul at the end by Indiana when it happened. Just figured we called TO was why play stopped. what a dunderhead.

oh, and thanks to him.

for sure.

Damn- Garland is so good

i am so glad the Cavs didnt trade him for a 5% chance at a "star" like @tlance thought would be the smart move. lol.

just get as many of those W's as they can- gonna have to fight and scratch and claw for everyone from here on out.
Cannot wait to watch this kid (and Mobley) and see how good each can become.

Go ahead and keep trolling.

That “star” was needed to keep LeBron James.

And it wasn’t Garland I said they should trade. It was the pick used to acquire Sexton long before Garland was even on the roster.

They could have easily decided to pack it in and sell if they failed to resign LeBron even after making win now moves to keep him.

Aside from drafting Sexton, pretty much everything else that Cleveland has done could have still happened had they made 1 more push to sure up the roster and keep LeBron in the summer of ‘18.

What I said, and what I stand by when I said it is that a core of Garland, Okoro, Sexton isn’t getting you anywhere. Mobley might be the piece that changes trajectory. And I always allowed for that possibility.

Garland, Mobley and Allen could be pretty nice for a few years, but you also punted a chance to contend in 2019 and might have still been able to get these pieces.
yeah...if only we traded that pick for Deandre Jordan to still lose to GS....I'm sure then Lebron would have forgotten about the weather, his nice home and all his business dealings in SoCal.

Yeah, not the pick I was talking about or the player I ever said they should have acquired.
