My guy, are you going to see the Eternals?

Personally, I liked it.

But, I went in with super low expectations after all the bad reviews.

If you go in thinking you are about to watch Endgame, Winter Soldier you will be upset.

However, if you like movies like Castaway, the Martian, Gravity you will be fine.

I put it before Iron man 2, all the Thor Movies, sans Ragnorak, Dr. Strange...

It's in the Captain Marvel range...imo

Anyone else seen that new Dune movie?

I saw the original back in the day and it was the most boring movie I have ever seen. I'm still pissed that I sat in the theatre for 3 hours watching that thing.

I had vowed not to watch the new one because of how boring the first one was. But my son asked me to watch it with him. I agreed to, figuring that there was no way it could be as boring as the first one. I figured that, if nothing else. new technology in filmmaking would see to that.

This was the conversation between my son and I after the movie:

Son: I know you said the original was boring...but was it as boring as this one?
Me: Yes and it was a half hour longer.
Son: Wow. That's hard to imagine.
Me: To be fair to the new one, it was more efficient.

Also to be fair, the new one was only the first half of the book and a lot of the action is in the second half.

I was a big Dune nerd with the books so I'm glad they made a more accomplished version, the 1984 David Lynch version is insane and weird.

And i'm getting frustrated as fuck with Vogels timeout routine. At one point they were up by 19 points, went on a 7-0 run, had all the momentum, and Frank takes a random timeout for no reason. Didn't even sub out any players.

trip this. I actually went to a showing of Black Panther at Hollywood Bowl where they actually did the movie alongside a live orchestra doing the music and sound effects. It was actually kinda cool...

For a guy who covered the league for about 30 years, SAS isn't very smart. Guy been on shows all week acting like there is no way the lakers can make the finals/beat the warriors and acting like the warriors are a slam-dunk to make/win the finals.
