He's not from Cleveland though. Throughout the majority of his career many people have incorrectly claimed he's from Cleveland because he played for the Cavs.

i think the point of it is- he is soooooooo checked out of LAL right now-- and that could have been him opening his campaign to come back

Oh sure, every city has something to rag on, but you can't make a joke that LA is some Cleveland-style lame city that no one grows up dreaming of moving to or wanting to hang out in. I spent ages 9 to 18 in suburban Houston. No one grows up wanting to live there either.
