I mean who pays attention to MVP anymore. Lebron didn’t win a MVP for years and was still considered the best player. Kobe one only MVP but for years he was the best player. We all know team record has a great impact on it and it’s Steph is still top 3.

The players care.

Help me out here.

A couple days ago people were trying to say Curry should be behind LeBron, Giannis and even DeRozan in the MVP race.

Thoughts?
Giannis definitely...Curry looked like an MVP the first 20 games or so but his numbers have fallen off since...

I dont think it is unreasonable but it needs to be sustained. If Lebron keeps playing like this AND Lakers start winning…he should definitely be in the race but he probably has little chance bc record is king. LA without AD is nothing but less than mediocre and they have the hardest SOS remaining. If he gets them a 4-5 seed putting up the kind of numberw he is, yes he is in it. Still early and we see how good this team is so very unlikely but he is playing better than Curry. If anyone disagrees…they likely need to be tested?

In it with no real chance to win is my point. I doubt he will get the votes needed regardless.

thought by whom? Guessing most knew that would be a really tough contract to trade.

I seem to remember statements by Cavs apologists defending the extension for trade purposes.

...and I extended the discussion to his overpaid nature, which killed his trade value. Easy thread to follow...
maybe if anyone said otherwise....but no one did. We all knew his trade value was nil.

Yeah...when the deal was made. No one still thinks that. This thread is about a buyout.

do try and keep up.

Lol

Poor Knicks.

I just can't with Thibs.

He is incapable of evolving.

Same system.

Wants to keep playing his same guys from the Chi.

Dude is just a dinosaur with a heavily flawed roster.

They don't have a #1.

They have a bunch of #3's who think they are #1's.

Still, I think I'd much rather be stuck with Fournier than Russ.
Yep...right now my beloved Bockers are stuck in a 1 step forward/2 steps back scenario for the foreseeable future..which hopefully gets resolved sooner than later. It's frustrating and I'm trying to maintain my optimism as much as I can...but with covid protocols now, and some other peripheral injury issues always in the way...It's not easy.

Thibs' arrival was good for the org and the fans...and he got them back to respectability and on the radar....but now it seems they've reverted back to their bad habits unfortunately, a lot of which isn't on him.
The roster has too many holes...and fundamentally unsound players.

That said....a .500 record, or hopefully slightly better by the end of the regular season is still a doable goal for them..and should be enough to get them at the very least a play in round (8-9/10)...or maybe even a 6 or 7 seed. (lofty I know...lol)
Lots of hoops still on the schedule..and anything can happen between now and April.
