Not that I really give a crap for obvious reasons but, in addition to shaking up their roster, and maybe working a deal down the road for some new players, the Lakers imho, would also be better served if they went in a different direction as far as their head coaching situation goes.
Frank Vogel just isn't a good fit for how that team is currently assembled...but I actually do hope their FO decides to stick with him, and again like I said, for obvious reasons.

Go Dubs!
Go Knicks!

Happy Holidays, y'all.

lol

Vogel isn't the issue. Not even close to the issue. He fits them just fine because he's a veteran coach. He's actually got them playing defense finally too. They are currently tied for 10th in the NBA in defensive ranking.

As far as the Lakers I'm against anything that would make them better.

You know who could help the Lakers out in a number of ways?

The problem is that he would make them too good. No one would be able to come within 20 of them in any game if they hired him as player/coach...He could probably get LaMelo to replace CarMelo, Lonzo to replace Westbrook and LiAngelo to replace AD and he would of course replace Lebron.

They switch off. Lebron plays off ball when he needs/wants a rest without coming out of the game.

They don't have it completely worked out yet because Lebron has missed a lot of games.

It looks like they are trying to make it where Lebron mostly has the ball during important possessions (need a score to stop a run, late in the half/game) and Westbrook having it a good amount the rest of the time.
That last part is kind of my question, will Lebrons ego let him not have the ball in his hands during those moments. If not there is simply no reason to have Russ on the floor.

So far, when they have been on the floor together, that's mostly how it plays out. As I said, they don't have it completely figured out yet...but you can tell they're working on it.

To his credit, Westbrook seems to be making a real effort to "calm his tittays" and not be such a wildman all of the time. He still turns the ball over too much, but he's always going to have more because that's gonna happen when a guy is "all gas, no brakes" like Westbrook. But even there, he's had worse seasons

I have to say, I can see why Thunder fans were so defensive of him when he was in OKC. The guy cares so much and plays so damn hard...it's hard to criticize him even when it's mostly deserved. lol

You are exactly right, but I did tire of some of his antics. To me, in a ideal world the Lakers would really maximize the time each has running things when the other is on the bench. You need consistent bodies to do that though.

True, but that kinda "smart" comes with experience...

Not always man.

Some guys have it, some don’t.

Caruso is extremely high on the basketball IQ scale, and THT is pretty damn low.

In my experience, the low basketball IQ players can absolutely be serviceable if used correctly, but low IQ guys really never become high IQ guys at this stage.

It's funny watching him...he'll do a couple of dumb things and I'll be saying Lebron needs to take the ball away from him, or Vogel needs to sit him...then he'll give a "good Russ" play where he throws down a monster dunk or something and I forget I was mad at him. lol

Yeah, THT will get a little smarter just off of experience, but yeah, he's never gonna be Caruso when it comes to basketball i.q.

The both have WTF? plays. But Caruso's are more "WTF, how did he do that?" while THT's are more "WTF, why did he do that?" lol

Lakers have had a cakewalk schedule thus far though. That certainly helps the defensive ranking.

When he was younger, perhaps before his kids were born, he had a bad habit when he got fired up of running up to the crowd and yelling “y’all get the F up”. You look around and see small kids and stuff, a lot of people didn’t like it. But he kept doing it. The organization really should have put a stop to it honestly.
