Ever heard of the 1966 Ford Mustero? It was a Mustang/truck configuration much like the El Camino and Ranchero.

Here it is...

They aren't sure just how many were ever made....some say about 50....others claim only 5 to 7 were ever made. If you ever find one buy it....it's worth a fortune when restored.

that's the SSR, right? Someone at my work has that exact same color "truck", its absolutely hideous.

Tell him to pop the hood for you one day....should have the same motor as the Vette did that year.

Oh and just so we are all clear on this...

There will never be another production El Camino....no matter how many renderings of it you find on the internet.

There is no market for it and the truth of the matter is the El Camino and Ranchero were based off of station wagons....not coupes or sedans.

They would have to bring the station wagon back to make one.

That's actually a pretty cool looking vehicle. The black one, not so much.

Nope. If I bought a truck, it’d likely be a Jeep Gladiator, but I’m all good on vehicles for now.

Just got one...and am pleasantly surprised! It does everything and still fits in the garage. I just started putting on steps tonight so the kids can get in it.

Looks like this in the color "Gator clear":
