corn train
Have some of it
Right around the corner, first walk through next Fri then off for spring break, actual practice starts 27 March. If that interests anyone en whatever
Opening day tomorrow, a spring break, then likely at it 3 days a week after that.
Scott Frost addresses media to open spring practice
Redshirt freshman Damion Daniels is a guy who could fill in for Stoltenberg, Chinander said. With Stoltenberg's injury, Chinander said it gives coaches the opportunity to throw in guys from the defensive end spot to nose tackle to see how they fit. That seems to be going well, he said. Defensive line coach Mike Dawson mentioned senior Peyton Newell as a guy who has impressed early on at that nose tackle spot, too.
Inside linebackers coach Barrett Ruud has four guys in his room who are standing out: Will Honas, Mo Barry, Avery Roberts and Dedrick Young. Those four guys are competing for two inside linebacker spots. He also mentioned Jacob Weinmaster as a guy he'd like to see get playing time.
"I don't think we're the defense I heard about," Chinander said after practice Thursday.
"I think we're ahead of that curve a little bit," Chinander said. "I think they're buying into the system. They're doing what we want them to do. We know there's mistakes. With this offense, you make a mistake, they're going to rip you for 60 (yards), so it's great learning. We're a little bit ahead of where, I guess, I thought we'd be."
i've heard a lot of talk about this in the past few days. People saying they'll believe it when they see it. I can understand where that is coming from as MR and co would be saying how good everyone looked. The talk of how the D was doing so good last year against our O. Well, it turned out our O sucked, specifically the o-line which in turn meant our D wasn't actually that good.
I have a little more faith in these coaches given what they were doing at UCF, that they aren't blowing smoke, but still won't really believe it until we see it against another team.
I agree. In 2021.Natty on a platty
I agree. I have no magic number of wins that would make me feel like the team improved. The numbers I want to see are related to missed tackles, turnovers, blowout losses and how many times I throw the remote control or scream "WTF!" during the games.Every team this time of year has these articles wrote about them. Not trying to be a downer but honest. You would be hard pressed to find much negative in the spring. I think we will see improvement but not 10 wins.
