Right now, Northern Kentucky 9-11 poor Louisville 1st qtr 3m
I think someday it would be nice to make the NIT meaningful by scrapping it and turning this into a 96-team tournament.
I'd like the NIT to be meaningful as well, but I'm not sure how to go about doing it. Several years ago Woody Paige suggested taking the final 8 of the NCAA and NIT and forming the 'Sweet 16'. That would definitely make the NIT important, but not sure how feasible. 2017 would have looked like this:I think someday it would be nice to make the NIT meaningful by scrapping it and turning this into a 96-team tournament.
It's an idea if not a good one. My thoughts were to let the NIT basically become a mid-majors tournament that would allow the good middies that don't win the conference tournament to not have to fight it out with the 8th place team from the B1G or the ACC and actually be in the hunt for a spot on the national stage.I'd like the NIT to be meaningful as well, but I'm not sure how to go about doing it.
