I've had an inkling in the back of my head for awhile that the best value where the Pats are picking in the 1st will be in the interior line spots. Not to mentiona bunch of them come from programs with connections to Bill (Daniels-Ferentz, Price-Meyer, Ragnow-Bielema). After reading Breer's column and Reiss' positional draft preview this morning, I'm not going to be surprised in the least if the Pats take one of those guys tonight.

Why would they it's not a real position of need. I don't understand the train of thought.

It's a position of need in 2019 if they don't extend Shaq. Belichick isn't going to ignore talent for need in the 1st. If he's sitting there at 23 and has a Top 20 grade on James Daniels and only has a 2nd round grade on everybody else and can't get a trade down he likes, what do you think he's going to do?

Understood. I'm just saying it's a bonus with those three in particular, they could just as easily take Isaiah Wynn or Will Hernandez, too. The larger point is there's a bunch of good interior OL prospects in the back half of the round, and Shaq and Thuney are only 1 and 2 years away from FA. Hell, maybe they'd even think about taking a G and try kicking Thuney back out to LT, who knows. I just won't be shocked if they take one of those guys tonight is all.

Isaiah Wynn it is. They announced him as a tackle, though...interesting

So hard to predict the Pats. So many head fakes. They've been known to throw people off by saying how much they love a guy and getting everyone to think they don't really like him...

The Wynn pick made a lot of sense especially with the questions of what is happening health wise with the NE tackles. If they are healthy then he can kick into guard and still be a starter.

Michel though was a bit of a shock. On my personal board I had him I think 70th overall as a prospect. The guy has talent don't get me wrong but has two major issues...1) Fumbling. He had one of the worst fumbling rates of any RB entering this draft. 2) Teams took him off their board because of medical red flags. He has bone on bone in one of his knees and from what I understand had a doctor telling teams it is not a matter of if but when his knee gives out.

I live in SEC country and watched him play. While I did not think the Pats would go OT, I was wrong this is a solid pick. I wonder with his height will he move to OG.

So happy we got Sony Michel I like this kid a lot.

Surprised we did not do defense but I have learned mocking the Pats is damn near impossible
