That was very low of them.
Total dick move, yeah... Looks like they might finally start to turn the corner and win a few games this year, though.

We hear that a lot. Ooh finally, the Browns have turned the corner!Total dick move, yeah... Looks like they might finally start to turn the corner and win a few games this year, though.
Well technically Free Agency hasn’t even started yet. All those “deals” you saw today aren’t real until tomorrow. Some of those reports could be false. Hence why they refer to Monday & Tuesday before FA as the Tampering Period.
Steelers could still make high profile moves tomorrow. Their PR group are much more tight lipped about these things. They could very well have deals in place but we won’t hear about it until tomorrow.
That said, last report I read said AVill restructured putting the Steelers only $2.5mil under the cap. They would still need to officially release Mitchell to get anywhere close to making a high profile move.
Fun fact: this is the highest cap restructure in franchise history this offseason. I believe the restructures of DeCastro, Tuitt, Brown, AVill, etc has saved them just over $28mil, last record was set in 2012 offseason with $25mil worth of restructures.
Again... Only $2.5mil under the cap right now. Which isn't even enough to sign their RFA tendered offers & 2018 rookie class. We should see a bunch of action today in the form of vet releases if they really intend to get someone in FA. Mitchell & Gay should be the first to go. That frees up an additional $6-7mil.. That'll be enough to get the RFA's & draft class under contract with some spare change to maybe go after vet min type deals. More work would need to be done for anything better.Hyde went to the Browns for $5 mil a year. Bridgewater went to the Jets for $10 mil. Can we seriously not afford anything with all that restructuring we did?
Guys still available that I would like to see signed include Kenny Vaccaro, Eric Reid, Zach Brown, Morgan Burnett and Tre Boston. We have roughly $8 mil available. Can we get any of these guys??

Philadelphia Eagles to re-sign Nigel Bradham; report says they'll shop Mychal Kendricks
Replacement for Shazier that wouldn't cost a 1st round pick.
He was one our visits to Pitt the year of his draft, too.Good find...the teams do have some fairly recent trading history.
Wonder what the Eagles are asking for him? If they'd take a 3rd or lower we should pull the trigger on that.Good find...the teams do have some fairly recent trading history.

Steelers didn’t tender RFA wideout Eli Rogers

Steelers wide receiver Eli Rogers will be available to anyone this afternoon.
According to Joe Rutter of the Pittsburgh Tribune Review, the Steelers did not place a tender on the restricted free agent, setting him free.
With the low RFA tender up to $1.907 million, the Steelers didn’t want to invest in a player who suffered a torn ACL in the playoff loss to Jacksonville, which will keep him out most of the offseason.
Rogers has shown flashes, but caught just 18 passes for 149 yards last year. He was a 48-catch player in 2016, and with the deals passed out yesterday to receivers of similar pedigree, that would have qualified him to get rich somewhere.
The Steelers might still bring him back later, but the timing of the injury kept him from cashing in.
Was it Max Starks several years back that kept getting hurt and the Steelers would wait for him to heal up before resigning him and bringing him back sometimes several games into the season?Bummer. Really liked the guy. Hardworking, blue collar type player.

Maybe they do that with Rogers???
No thanks. If the WR needy Ravens don't want him anymore why should we pick him up???Bring back Mike Wallace. He'll be cheap.
