Texas needs to fire Doug Brocail. Like yesterday.

The reasoning for my comment was Dyson. End of sentence. This dude is a beast. And Texas gave him up for free because Brocail had no idea how to use him.

It took Rags and Gardy all of 1 week to turn him back into the elite closer he was last year. THAT is a fire-able offense, IMHO.
He got his money anyway. Not a surprise at all. I think another team will take a chance on him if Boston is picking up his salary
The Giants have shown an affinity toward bringing back former prospects (don't believe me, look at Richmond's pitching staff). What are the chances that they try to lure Sandoval back?
I don't see it happening. Too many anecdotal stories told about Sandoval in the clubhouse say he was not a jokester, but a joke. And bringing back a guy who tossed grenades on his way out? No thanks.
AND Jones...And to what end? We already have too many potential 3Bs in Hwang and Arroyo...
Wow. A bonus 3/4 rounder. That is pretty huge.So this is actually pretty interesting news. Giants signed prep right hander Jack Conlon. Conlon was a 4th round pick by the O's, but didn't sign. The O's didn't offer his at least 40% of the slot, so he was able to become a free agent. Giants swooped in and got him.
Basically, the Giants added an extra draft pick. Conlon fit in as a 3rd round talent, feel a bit due to his Texas A&M commitment. Real nice get for the Giants, and nice to see them add talent in an unconventional way.

Crawford was a 4th rounder. Belt was a 5th rounder.
Any idea what they signed him for? I know it doesn't count against anything, just curious.Pretty much, and there's some upside here as a high school pitcher. He'd be the 3rd youngest player in the Giants draft class.
The injury risk is real though, failed his physical with the O's. But, this is a modest investment, potential huge reward.
