Just showing why not to give up on someone who isn't even arbitration eligible until 2019, or able to become a free agent until 2022.

If all he ever becomes is a .250 - .270 hitter, he'll be above average for outfielders, when factoring his defense.

I haven't given up, I said I was giving him one more year. I don't care if he hits .230 if he could keep his OBP in the .340 - .350 range, he's an All Star if he does that as he should be stealing 50 bases a year and playing Gold Glove defense...

I wouldn't say the decision makers don't care. You look at the direction the team was heading coming out of the AS break, and it's easy to see the thought process. Berrios was struggling. Santana had slid. The rest of the rotation was patchwork.
