that's your 2017 recrutiing class... good class... some big misses and undersigned by 2 scholarships. We'll see why at the press conference. Which I will update here as well.
Riley: Jaevon is a playmaker and tough kid, perfect fit for us. In School... KJJ, his recruitment and his commitment and being here already... that sparked a lot of momentum for us. Keyshawn Jr is a magnet. And Gebbia is another magnet. And then Tyjon is a really really dynamic player so we love that group.
Sure we would like to have one or two more guys... we're going to say this is the perfect number. And move forward with it.
I hate losing at the end but I think it just proves once again that we got what... four guys that wanted to come... and we love it so we shot our bullets at 8 guys or something like that. we're after the right people, we're down to the last day. Elijah Blades is one we got at the end and Tyjon Lindsey
It is always about where you put your time and man power. as we go and as we get earlier starts... which we have now. As we know that we will get a better picture earlier of where to really pin point.
We went after Foster Sarrell in a great way and we got down to the last two to three for him, but had we known it was his dream school since he was a little kid we might have spent less time on him.
Question about Calvin: do you regret going after him hard?
Riley: I think that uh... I'll say that without making a blanket statement about kids in general which is wrong to do. We've had a lot of guys committed a long time. Ben Miles is one of em, the first thing I did was thank him for his long standing commitment.
Not every guy is built like that and ready to do that, and it can be in this day and age very confusing to give these kids the benefit of the doubt. I hope it gets back to that... there are some families that when they commit they tell you that they won't change their minds. These are young guys, in some respects it can be very disappointing. More info earlier might help you know what was in the works. That particular case was a bit over the top.
