Offensive Players Already on Board
John Raridon (4-Star OG) [Des Moines, IA]
Bryan Brokop (4-Star OG) [New Lenox, IL]
Jared Bubak (3-Star TE) [Lincoln, NE]
Offense
Quarterback
Jarrett Guarantano (4-Star, QB) [Oradell, NJ] - Gaurantano is the #1 prospect on new OC Danny Langsdorf's board. In Decemember, shortly after being hired, it was Gaurantano that Langsdorf went to visit. Gaurantano has long been considered an Ohio State lean but started backing off his interest of late as he seems to have discovered that he might be down a bit on Ohio State's board. Home state team Rutgers is in play as well and Tennessee and Oklahoma have thrown their hats in the ring. The #5 rated pro-style QB (although he runs a 4.6 forty) in the nation has been a bit of an enigma since considering a commitment to the Buckeyes in January. Nebraska is working to get his interest up, we'll see if anything takes hold. Safe bet would be on either Ohio State or home state Rutgers garnering his services, but it's still early, if Nebraska can somehow get in the door and get a visit all bets are off.
Zeb Noland (3-Star, QB) [Watkinsville, GA] - Noland is a recent name that has popped up on Nebraska's radar and while he doesn't currently have an offer from the Huskers he will be visiting to work out for Coach Langsdorf in March, along with 4-star teammate Jaleel Laguins (OLB). Noland recently won MVP at a QB camp in Georgia and also has been invited to the Elite 11 regional camp in Atlanta over the summer. His name is one to keep an eye on as his rating could sky rocket with impressive showings at camps. Case in point, prior to the Georgia camp Zeb was rated a low 3-star by 247Sports with the score of 84, however, after earning MVP honors their his rating was bumped to 87.
Christian Ellsworth (3-Star, QB) [Grand Island, NE] - Ellsworth won some notoriety at the junior combine at the Army All-America game this past winter in less than ideal conditions. He has a pretty strong arm and good football acumen. Wyoming is already in on him and close to an offer and Nebraska wants to see him at a camp.
Brandon Peters (4-Star, QB) [Avon, IN] - Peters is a good talent within the 500 mile radius the Husker coaches talked about prior to signing day 2015. However, he has yet to receive much interest from Nebraska and does not have an offer. Right now Virginia Tech, Indiana, Michigan, Michigan State and Boston College are teams hot on his trail. Nebraska could get a foot in the door if they wanted.
Running Back
Chase Lucas (4-Star, RB) [Chandler, AZ] - Lucas is a premiere speed back out of Arizona and will be a tough pull from the likes of Arizona and Oregon who like to run spread offenses. He seems to remind the staff of Jacquizz Rodgers with his speed and versatility, only taller. Nebraska is going to try to hit Arizona hard in the coming class and this would be one they will look at as well.
Rakeem Boyd (3-Star, RB) [Houston, TX] - Each year it would behoove Husker fans to look at the talent in Houston Texas as it seems that's where new Husker RB coach would like to focus his efforts in regards to recruiting in the future. Boyd has the size and speed that Davis likes and has been overlooked a bit by recruiting services for some reason. He has yet to garner a Nebraska offer, but that could change soon.
Devin White (4-Star, RB) [Springhill, LA] - Devin White is going to be one of the most sought after RBs in the nation for the 2016 class. He has already visited Nebraska on his own dime once, but that was with the former staff. White has no shortage of offers and it will be tough to get him out of the south (already has LSU and Bama offers) but Nebraska might kick the tires on him due to family connections. White's uncle is former Nebraska player Vershan Jackson.
Brittain Brown (3-Star, ATH) [Canton, GA] - Before Charlton Warren left I might have considered Brown a Husker lean, but now that Warren is gone it is tough to tell if that relationship will continue or not. Brown is a versatile athlete that could play defense or offense. While his interest in Nebraska is unknown after the departure of Warren it is a good name to keep an eye on.
Tight End (Current commit: Jared Bubak)
Noah Fant (NYR, TE) [Omaha, NE] - Fant is an intriguing prospect for Nebraska as they are looking to bolster their TE depth in this class. There may be other names out there but Fant is close to home, has they height and frame that the new staff is looking for and could have the speed as well. Fant will likely attend a Nebraska camp to earn an offer, and if he does he likely would accept.
Nick Lenners (3-Star, TE) [Lincoln, NE] - Lenners pulled the trigger on his KSU offer early to hold a spot at the next level. If Nebraska ends up offering the 6'4" 240 lb TE then the game is back on, if not, he's a lock to KSU. The Huskers will likely have to decide if they want to try to flip Lenners or offer Fant as they don't likely take both.
Other Names: Naseir Upshur, Brandon Scales, Scooter Harrington, Noah Turner
Wide Receiver
Freddie Pinder (4-Star, WR) [Miami, FL] - Some might see Pinder as a Miami lock, and he could be. But Nebraska has thrown its hate into the ring to see if anything sticks. Nothing has come of it yet but we'll see once Coach Williams gets on the trail.
Taj Williams (NYR, JUCO WR) [IWCC] - Williams has no shortage of offers coming out of JUCO this season right down the road from Lincoln at Iowa Western. While it could be tempting for him to go back home to Florida it might also be tough to refuse an opportunity right down the road in Lincoln. Nebraska will likely be looking for a larger bodied receiver that can play right away on the outside, the 6'3" 180 lb Taj Williams fits the bill.
Isaiah Graham (4-Star, WR) [Bastrop, LA] - While Graham hasn't stated that Nebraska is in on him just yet the fact that Coach Williams comes from Louisiana and knows the lay of the land (and has a stellar reputation in the state) could get Nebraska in on some of the better players in the state. Maybe it's not Graham but pay attention to offers going out to Louisiana wide receivers in the near future because LSU can't sign them all. Graham, who has yet to garner an offer from LSU could be a prime candidate.
Kjetil Cline (3-Star WR) [Saint Paul, MN] - Cline is an interesting case. He has a lot of believe in his abilities but comes from a very under-valued state as far as recruiting goes. That's why the young man is transferring to IMG Academy in Florida for his senior season. The 6'0" 193 lb WR thinks that will earn him more exposure and perhaps lead to bigger offers. Nebraska will keep tabs on him to see if he dominates play in Florida like he did in Minnesota. If he does, all bets are off.
Other names: Clyde Leflore, Harry Ballard, Devin Duvernay, Dredrick Snelson, Josh Imatorbhebhe, B'keal Harry, Herb McGee.
Offensive Line Current Commits: John Raridon, Bryan Brokop
Matt Farniok (4-Star, OT) [Sioux Falls, SD] - It is rare that Nebraska gets an opportunity to bolster its line with the amount of talent available in the 500 mile radius that is available this season. Farniok was a top target for the previous staff and remains one for the new staff at Nebraska. Farniok is a former teammate of current Husker Nate Gerry and has been down to Nebraska multiple times on his own dime. Nebraska is going to try to close the deal with Farniok sooner rather than later as it would be nice to add one of the top Offensive Tackles in the nation asap. Look for the Huskers to get him down to lincoln in the spring and summer this off season.
Nathan Smith (3-Star, OT) [Murrieta, CA] - Nebraska has yet to offer Smith but the big OT will be in Lincoln this March with his dad (who is a HUGE Husker fan). Smith is a 4-star on Scout and will likely be a 4-star on most sites by the end of his senior season. The 6'7" 280 lb behemoth of an OT says he is WIDE open and has been on a bit of scholarship offer tour of late. This one will play out a while but Nebraska will look to put its best foot forward this spring.
Michael Eletise (4-Star, OG) [Honolulu, HI] - Eletise is one of the highest sought after players in Hawaii this coming cycle and made his name at a recent football camp geared towards the top HS football players in the state. Coach Cavanaugh has connections (along with Tavita and Mark Philipp) to the region and are working to establish a polynesian pipe line in the near future. Nebraska will have to overcome offers by UCLA, USC, Utah, Arizona, ASU.
Matt Kegel (3-Star, OT) [Chaska, MN] - Kegel is one of the top players in Minnesota and a very solid prospect as OT. While he is likely underneath names such as Farniok and Smith, he could be a solid plan B if the other two do not work out. Kegel has already visited Nebraska before and would definitely be interested if the Huskers offered.
Jake Heinrich (3-Star, OG) [Urbandale, IA] - Heinrich is another fantastic OG talent to come out of Iowa and is currently considered an Iowa State lean. If Nebraska came through with an offer it would be very tough tough for him to turn down (he visited in August last year). However, it seems he might be down a bit on Nebraska's list. In the end this could be a battle between Iowa and Nebraska for the OL. If Nebraska is able to nab Heinrich out of Iowa that would mean they took the Top 2 prospects out of the state in 2016.
