The Patriots schedule this year is against the NFC West and AFC North . That takes care of 8 games and then they have 6 games within their own division. The two outside games are against Houston at home and Denver on the road. This year the Bye is week 9 which is perfect.

Based on the team last year and the improvements and additions, it appears that the two toughest games before the Bye week are Arizona and Pittsburgh. Miami gets the gift, playing here in September and home in January.
