In addition to the home and away with the three AFCW opponents, we play:

HOME
Patriots
Texans
Colts
Falcons
Panthers

AWAY
Bengals
Jaguars
Saints
Titans
Buccaneers

Other than the Bengals, we get the current toughest teams at home and the higher drafting teams at home.

I think you mean higher drafting teams on the road?

btw, Looking at playing the Falcons, Panthers, Saints, Buccaneers etc... Reminds me of Peyton Mannings first season as a Bronco. Lost to a really good Falcons game early that year. Peyton had a bad game and really played well after that game.

Love the schedule lots of different teams on road always fun.

Really cool we don't play KC SD Oak either. I know you posted just out of division teams but, had to give a hard time anyways.

Are you sure Patriots would come to Denver again? Seems that should be the other way around. ...

No the way the NFL works somehow is that we alternate with NE every 3 years.

This schedule won't hold up if the RAiders and Chargers move.

We ran into a weird situation scheduling wise with the Patriots. We had 3 straight road games against them. Essentially what happened was every other year it should switch home and away. The year in between that should have been in Denver though was when we played against the AFC East and the last time we played the East we had a home game against NE so they got it this time. So now it has reversed where we actually would get 3 straight home games against them because we play the East 2 seasons from now and NE would come here.

It also depends on where your opponents finish in the standings. If the Pats had finished 2nd to the Jets, you'd be playing the Jets and not the Pats. Because the Broncos have won their division and the Pats have won theirs, it's become an annual game either in Foxboro or Denver.

Personally, I think the NFL should make them an annual game regardless of where either team finishes. This game is a must see and is generally scheduled as the highlight game of the week. It would be again if both teams were 4-11.

I fully understand what happened back then. That doesn't explain this schedule, though, since it's the AFC South we play. According to your explanation, Denver should be playing at NE.

UNess you're suggesting the NFL is trying to make it up to the Broncos....

They are not trying to make it up. Before they had a 3 game home streak against us we actually I think had a 3-game home streak against them if I remember right. The NFL works to balance things out to 50/50 for home and away but with not every team finishing in the same divisional ranking spot it makes it tough so every once in a while you fall into this funk where a team will have a few home games in a row if both teams finish in the same spot within their division.

That is why I can actually already tell you that no matter what happens this next season that in the 2017 season the Broncos will once again have a home game against New England. The last time our 2 divisions faced off the Patriots had the home game against us so this time we will. So again that will lead to 3 straight home games for us. If we keep finishing same spot in the division then good chance the next 3 will be in New England.

Still doesn't explain why we play home against NE next season after playing them at home this season. We played the AFC North this season, and the AFC South in 2016. So in theory, we should play in NE in 2016, because they played here in 2015, then they play in Denver in 2017 because of the AFC East vs. AFC West scheduling.

I guess I am not completely sure why it has worked out that way. The NFL has some crazy computer with an algorithm that only someone with a PhD would understand in Computer engineering that figures all of this stuff out. It doesn't always do what seems like common sense to us. Right now it does seem though that the Broncos and Patriots are on this streak of having 3 home games in a row if we finish at the same spot in the division.

It's like I said, the NFL likes to alternate between home games every 3 years

2006 - NE Home
2007 - Didn't play
2008 - NE Home

2009 - Den Home
2010 - Didn't play
2011 - Den Home

2012 - NE Home
2013 - NE Home
2014 - NE Home

2015 - Den Home
2016 - Den Home

It's just how they do the schedule.

He is right.. NE is at Denver this year.. it was already released by the NFL... I like the tougher games all at home... except for the Bengals our road games should ( SHOULD ) be pretty manageable
