It is the weekend before the draft. Are we doing a new (final) thread? Since we can't edit our picks in here.

I notice evey year everyone seems to pick a lot of the same players as we pick up on each others trends. :)

Is this a contest to select and lock picks prior to each day or a one time lock down of all picks before the draft starts Thursday night?

Dang. This was my projected trade but I'm getting Kaepernick back. I won't copy you so if it happen you would basically win the contest. It's a great kill shot early plus no harm no foul IMO if it doesn't happen Denver still may draft the same player at #31 as #37.
If you decide not to use the trade, let me know. Only problem is if Denver select Kilebrew you get no credit because you added an artificial pick in round 4 unless in real life Denver aquired and extra 4th round pick.

I figure a couple of days before the draft to a Final Mock Draft Thread where everybody can post their last mock. Now say you post it on Tuesday and Wednesday sometime you decide you want to do something different I can actually go through and delete posts so all that there would be would be the final post but you would have to let me know that you decided last minute to change something.

Chris, go ahead and predict what you think will happen - that won't bother me a bit if you have the same trade going down as I do.

Read this or make it easy on yourself and scroll to the bottom of the page in bold without reading any of my other junk I have just posted. It is rare that you get the right player so I am focusing more on position. Took double OG and double S in hopes that we know the team is going that route so double the fun with my chances. Had Sean Davis in round 2, but needed a QB and I don't think Dak lasts until round 3. I could see trying to move up in round 2 and or 3 doe looking for a QB and S. Cajuste and Will Parks are hard to gage their actual draft status. I wanted to get Jonathan Williams or Devontae Booker in here but it just didn't work with Booker going early.

Can we do two entries this year? ;)

I sorta feel like the DL we all think are projected to us in round 1 will go earlier then our pick thus leaving us with a guy like Bullard who a lot have valued in early round 2.

Round 1:
Pick 31- Jonathan Bullard, DE, Florida
Round 2: Pick 63 -Dak Prescott, QB, Mississippi State
Round 3: Pick 94 -Connor McGovern, OG, Missouri
Round 3: Pick 98- James Bradberry, S, Samford
Round 4: Pick 136- Joe Thuney, OG, North Carolina State
Round 5: Pick 144- Devon Cajuste, TE, Stanford
Round 6: Pick 219- Wendell Smallwood, RB, West Virginia
Round 7: Pick 228 - B.J. Goodson, LB, Clemson
Round 7: Pick 23 - Will Parks, S, Arizona
Round 7: Pick 253 - Max McCaffrey, WR, Duke

Undrafted

Corey James, LB, Colorado State
Sam Carlson, OL, Colorado State
Rob Porter, CB, Jackson
Winston Rose, CB, New Mexico State
Eddie Yarbrough, DE, Wyoming

I really have no idea what we are doing. But there sure are a lot of players I'd like to Denver Broncos. :)

I understand drafting Max McCaffrey, but somehow I doubt the Broncos will let Max's kid carry the "Mr. Irrelevant" title - it would be easier to sign him as a UDFA.

Right- I agree. He is basically a slam dunk as an undrafted FA.

You can look at it two ways.

1. They honor Ed as Elway and him won two super bowls together, by using the last selection on him.
2. They don't waste the pick and go elsewhere and sign him undrafted which is the most likely route.

I will most likely being changing that on my final mock, but I wanted to throw that in there for now so that if it happens I can say "I should have". :)

I doubled up on a few positions that I doubt we double up on, S and OG although it could happen but not two OG's that early, but I figured I have a better chance to get the positions right then the players and I figure we go OG first 4 rounds, so now i have double the shot. Late round you can never go wrong with DB's/special teams guys.

Good catch CEH. I didn't even notice that I used the old one.

  • Round 1: Pick 31- Jonathan Bullard, DE, Florida
  • Round 2: Pick 63- Dak Prescott, QB, Mississippi State
  • Round 3: Pick 94- Connor McGovern, OG Missouri
  • Round 3: Pick 98 (compensatory)- James Bradberry, S, Samford
  • Round 4: Pick 136 (compensatory)- Joe Thuney, OG, North Carolina State
  • Round 5: Pick 144 (from Ravens in Gino Gradkowski trade)- Devon Casjuste, TE, Stanford
  • Round 5: Pick 157 (from Jets in Ryan Clady trade)- Wendell Smallwood, RB, West Virginia (Having a hard time between he and Jonathan Williams with this one, Ill take Smallwood in this one since I took Prescott, Bradberry, McGovern and Williams in the rd 7 mock I did this year, no way I get 4 right ;))
  • Round 6: Pick 219 (compensatory)- Will Parks, S, Arizona
  • Round 7: Pick 228 (from San Francisco in Vernon Davis trade)- BJ Goodson, LB, Clemson
  • Round 7: Pick 253- Andy Jones, WR, Jacksonville (replacing Max McCaffrey)

Undrafted

Corey James, LB, Colorado State
Sam Carlson, OL, Colorado State
Rob Porter, CB, Jackson State
Max McCaffrey, WR, Duke (replacing Winston Rose, CB, New Mexico State)
Eddie Yarbrough, DE, Wyoming

Tomorrow we can start the thread that you post your final Mock on so that everybody has a few days to get it done. Remember though that this is for your final mock not just the one that you fancy that day and change the next so pick wisely.

Is this a contest to select and lock picks prior to each day or a one time lock down of all picks before the draft starts Thursday night?
I know we were supposed to put the whole thing down before the draft, but I think last year, there was some wiggle room after each day where you could edit and get half credit or something of the like?

That seems too complicated and when ppl like George are wasted on draft day doesn't give him a chance to re-shuffle.

Can I ask a question about the rules/scoring?

- Added bonus for trades

+5 points for trading the pick ( either up or down )

+10 points for correct trade position

- AS PER NFL RULES, COMPENSATORY PICKS CANNOT BE TRADED

So wouldn't we all be smart to trade every pick so that if it happens we get a bonus 5 points? I mean couldn't I say trade our first round for pick #32 (1 pick later) and if we trade I get 5 points and if we don't and I get the player right at #31 I still get points.

Or is there a deduction if you come up with a trade that doesn't happen?

Just seems like maybe I'd be smart to predict every pick to be traded to have a shot at 5 points every pick or is there a reason not to do this?

Figure I will start by putting my mock draft here first and then if I like it transfer it over.

Round 1: Karl Joseph, S, West Virginia. I do know the team is very high on this kid.
Round 2: Christian Westerman, G, Arizona State
Round 3: Bronson Kaufusi, DE, BYU
Round 3: Willie Beavers, OT, Western Michigan
Round 4: Jatavis Brown, ILB, Akron
Round 5: Traded to San Francisco for Colin Kaepernick with a conditional pick next year as well.
Round 5: Devon Cajuste, WR/TE, Stanford
Round 6: Willie Henry, DT, Michigan
Round 7: Jacoby Brissett, QB, NC State
Round 7: Darius Jackson, RB, Eastern Michigan
