Heard earlier today AZ was projected to finish 10th in the Pac 12. So how are they doing?

Didn't Oregon St win it all in 2008 finishing like 9th?

Coastal needs Beckwith to basically throw the entire game as they just burned their entire bullpen tonight. You can't throw either of the guys they threw tonight in game 3.

CCU is a 50 game winner this season, and has like 5 50-win seasons in the last decade. Fresno St. went 33-27 the year they won it. They ended up 47-31 record and is the only champ with even close to 30 losses in a season.

OSU had a losing record in the Pac that year, but also went 39-4 in the non-conference that season.

CCU is not a cinderella or an underdog. They are probably closer to baseball's version of Gonzaga. They may have never been to the CWS (like the Zags have never been to a FF), but they are a very solid program. They have been ranked since late April/early May.

AZ is like a 2015 Michigan State in basketball that has a storied program but wasn't ranked at all during the season (maybe they snuck in and dropped out quickly, in some polls). AZ are a very recognizable program, but it took a while for them to hit on all cylinders with a first-year coach.

CCU may not have ever been to the CWS and not among the most recognizable names in the sport, but they were ranked top 15 heading into the postseason, and have the 9th most wins since 2000 in all of baseball. AZ is a well-recognized name in both the CWS and baseball, but really kind of snuck in to the Super Regionals and beyond.

Take your pic as to what is underdog. CCU might be more of an underdog program, but AZ is the underdog team, imo.

Yep. its also on ESPN News instead of ESPN. This could be one of the lowest attended and lowest TV ratings for a CWS final ever. I don't know why they can't just play at 5pm.

If Bannister doesn't start now, this day off is advantage coastal.

Beckwith had been run into the ground already, so getting an extra day helps.

Holmes gets a much needed day off or he may not have been available.

Hell now I wouldnt' be surprised to see Morrison for an inning.

I'd hope not. But with a day off, and everything on the line....
