Isn't one of the strikes against Okafor that he isn't the best defender? You can always pass on a big who's not a beast defensively. Cousins is a guy who could be an All-Star for the Lakers for years, Aldridge is one of the few players in the league who can put a team on his back and carry them. I saw it countless times during his stint with Portland.

If the Lakers passed on Okafor then that means they must feel really good about their chances in FA. Now I'll sit back and watch the Jim Buss bashing begin lol

The Lakers were in a position where they need everything, so it really didn't matter if they went big or small in the draft.
