Team Rice cooks up a late comeback.

Not sorry for the pun.

Turned out to be a halfway decent ball game. Much better than the pro bowls of the last few years. There was actually some defense, guys played hard and even went after their teammates. Heck, from the Panthers Mike Tolbert ran over Luke Kuechly and Riverboat Ron Rivera continue to show he's not afraid to take a chance.

It was not a great game by any streach. How many turnovers were there? Lots of dropped balls. I'd put it on par with about a 3rd preseason game. Still, it's better than no football at all.

I don't understand how everyone can be so underwhelmed lol- that game was very fun to watch- the girl running on the field, watching some big fat d-lineman run a fumble down to the 5, watching Mike Tolbert of all people make a difference in a game...

If anyone noticed, the winners got paid like 59,000 and losers got paid 23,500 or something like that. Can anybody confirm if they've done this in the past before?

Even better, I knew this was coming (league making players play harder) so I put 50 bucks on the under, which Bovada had at 91 friggin points. I even bet another 20 halfway through the game when they lowered it to 65.5. They probably did not make out too well tonight. I feel even worse for the people who were f'ed over because they didn't count that last TD on the FG return bahahahahaha

Tolbert has made a difference in a lot of games. He's listed at 5-9 245, more like 5-8 260 which makes him ideal for short yardage situations. He's a great blocker and a good pass catcher. Fantasy players lover him because he scores TD's (7 this year and last year, 10 in 2011). If he gets a good head of steam going, 7-8 yards untouched, you'll see defenders start to make business decisions about tackling him. He ran over a teammate tonight for a first down and when that fat d-lineman ran the ball back to the 5, Tolbert made the tackle to stop him. He is the best fullback in the NFL.

Didn't watch it all but what I did see, it looked like a passable football game. The changes worked. The NFL should be happy

I'm trying to find it, but at one point Brees talked about looking across the line and seeing Watt, Hardy, and Suh. From what he said you would think this is the stuff his nightmares are made of.

We all know the rate the NFL is going on this player protection stuff, but when I turned on the game and saw the orange and neon green stripes down the thighs with some guys carrying towels that same width for a second there I thought they were playing flag football. I really thought that was funny, but then wondered how long it will be before it actually happens.

Best Pro Bowl I have seen in a long time. It's never going to be a full blown "game" but the effort I saw last night was as good as you can get. The linemen on both sides actually put something into it unlike a couple years ago when they just came up out of their stance and just stood there waiting for the play to be over. JJ Watt looked like he took this game real serious. 10 sacks between the two teams I believe. Well hopefully this trend continues.

NFL.com:

J.J. Watt was a beast. Playing next to Ndamukong Suh and later Greg Hardy, Watt was unblockable. With Team Rice double-teaming Watt, Hardy picked up a sack. Don't think management in Houston didn't see that and ponder what Jadeveon Clowney would look like next to Watt.

This is what Rivers had to deal with as soon as he came in:
