Players got their bowl rings today. I actually didn't even know that you got a ring just for participating in a bowl.

Raiders tabbed 2nd in the East

The Middle Tennessee Blue Raiders enter year two of their Conference USA membership with higher expectations than they had in year one.

The Blue Raiders were selected to finish second in the East Division by the coaches within the conference, landing only behind the predicted East Division champion, Marshall.

From an individual accolade standpoint, standout defenders Kevin Byard and T.T. Barber were both selected to the 1st team on defense, but they were the only Blue Raiders to have those honors bestowed.

The preseason favorite, Marshall, boasts seven players to the 1st team list, and QB Rakeem Cato was selected as the preseason Offensive Player of the year. Additionally, Thundering Herd DL James Rouse was tabbed as the preseason Defensive Player of the Year.

Newcomers Western Kentucky were picked fourth in the coaches poll, exactly where the Blue Raiders fell during the preseason selections of their inaugural season.

In the West Division, North Texas barely edged out Rice for the top spot honors. The Mean Green secured their spot by one vote.

Something new for the team intro.

Those things put off a ton of heat. I bet all the people in the stands behind them in the picture will be able to feel them, maybe some in the top section too.

I'd hate to be anywhere near them on an already hot day.

Lol, no doubt. You can feel it at the Preds game when your at the top and away from the jumbotron. I'm glad they didn't have the pole flags on, those suckers would've melted straight to the pole, lol.
