Our game is very tight so far, Vadered.

The skating categories sure are. Unfortunately Holtby and Schneider combined for a stellar 7.64 GAA tonight, so as soon as you start a goalie I'm down 8-2-2. Kessel and Purcell had killer games tonight.

Still, the week is young. Here's hoping Neuvirth doesn't give Oates any reason to consider a goalie change.

I know this will sound dumb, but how does scoring work?

It's a head to head system. Each week you are against another team, and your teams are scored on 12 different categories - Goals, Assists, Points, +/-, Penalty Minutes, Power Play Goals, Power Play Assists, and Shots on Goal for skaters, and Wins, Save %, Goals Against Average and Shutouts for goalies. Every game a player plays while in your active lineup is counted towards your stats for the week. At the end of the week, each team gets a win"for every category they are leading the other team, a loss for every category they trail in, and a tie if they are tied. So if for instance at the end of the week my team had scored 30 goals and the other team had scored only 20, I'd get a win for that category. It doesn't matter how much you win by in a category - winning by one goal is as good as winning by a hundred.

Each week the numbers reset and you play a different opponent. At the end of the regular season, the team with the most wins... wins. There are no playoffs in this league.

Well here's hoping he does. :plotting:

I suspect I will have an unimpressive fantasy season this year...

I'm not looking great either so far, though hopefully my goalies won't average 5 GAA EVERY week. I'll probably go somewhere between 5-7 and 8-6 against you this week if it continues like it has so far.

Just have to let everything settle down. a weeks worth of training camp will do that to most teams.

Team Managers FYI, I added a poll to our League in reference to adding "saves" to goalie scoring. check it out when you have a chance! Thanks!

sweet.

fwiw, I would prefer to replace shutouts with saves instead of just adding saves.
5 categories are too many for such a small part of your roster, imho.

As a man with no goalies to speak of, I agree with not adding too many goalie stats. :D

We should add shorthanded points to the skaters if we add saves to the goalies
