I've always questioned how they do these things. I'd like to see the ping pong balls do their thing live as well.

I guess it's safe to say the Devils will be keeping their pick in this years draft. They should get a good player at 9. Monahan or Shinkaruk would be solid choices. A lot of people like Elias Lindholm a lot, but he's Swedish so some here might not want to consider him. I think Nicushkin might be the best forward in the draft, but he probably won't go in the top 5 or even 10 because nobody knows if he'll ever leave Russia.

Your right about nichsuk. It would be a solid pick if hes on the board from 15 back. Def worth the risk. I can see someone taking him earlier though. I don't get why the nhl would allow him to be drafted if he doesn't want to come here to play

looking at the draft there is a decent goalie out there zach fucle compared to cam ward which is good. however looking at this

they have him going late to calgary. i give calgary credit they have 3 first round picks! thats huge in turning a franchise around. really would like to see the devils spend a high pick on a goalie. like a 2nd rounder?

just based on his pure leadership that everyone is talking about i really like the monohan kid. but will be tough to get him at 9 i think. edmonton does need help on defense maybe a trade to move upa few spots. its a win/win devils get their guy shed some salary and edmonton gets a vet d man and can pick their kid d few picks later

I actually want a center because I think either Truth or Loki, or both, could convert to the wing pretty easily. They both have the speed to play on the outside, neither of them are great at faceoffs and it's not like their game depends on them being in the middle the way a guy like Zajac's does.

Faceoffs are an underrated awful area of our game. I think Zajac was the only decent faceoff guy we had. For a team that struggled all season to clear their own end, those in zone faceoffs were a killer for us. How much time on the PPs was wasted because we'd lose a faceoff in the attacking zone only to have them clear it?

Hopefully this Monahan character is around when we pick because he seems like he'd be a great fit. 6'2", skilled leader that can pretty much do it all? Yes please.

Didn't Loki already make it clear he does not like the wing and that's what got him shipped from LA? i like him at center, Truth could move, but I don't think Loki at winger is an option.

Yeah, you're probably right. That's fine, I'd keep a line of Loki centering Henrique and Kovy.

Agree 100% you can have 6 Stevens out there the other team will score goals. Look at the rangers. Great defense but outside of nash what else? If im sather i move garadi or mcdonugh and get in another o weapon.

Besides a good d man stay at home wont help us on the poweray which is what we need

So a Blue Jackets fan on the main board mentioned their GM has been talking to all of the GMS who have picks 6-9 and could possibly move 2 of their first round picks to move up if the guy they want is there. Would you trade the number 9 pick for, I believe they have the 14th and the 18th pick this year?

Keep in mind we don't have a pick next year and this is supposed to be a relatively deep draft if I'm not mistaken.

i would only do that if there was a goalie worth drafting in this 1st round. i'm not sure if there is or not.
