Alamo and Holiday are good bowls for the Pac but they send teams way too high in the pecking order to them.

Alamo Bowl, first bowl game over 65,000 attendees. Shows what a good matchup can do.

If my early morning eyes are functioning, every Big 12 game and every SEC game have had more than 50,000. The ACC, B1G, and PAC 12 cannot claim that.

2013

Announced Attendance

All Attendance figures are inflated because they count tickets given away, tickets sold but not through the turn styles, all tickets that the schools were supposed to sell but did not.

Every Bowl game that had a team from Texas in it had over 50,000 in attendance.

Rice, Texas Tech, Texas A&M, UT Austin

Every Bowl game that had a team from California in it had under 50,000 in attendance.

San Diego State, Fresno State, USC, UCLA

The only two games with more than 60,000 in attendance are Texas and Texas A&M. Obviously that will change starting today.

There was no way there was 65,000 people at the Gator Bowl.

It looked about 1/3rd filled in the stands.

Now admittedly it was rainy and miserable....I cannot blame people for staying away in droves.

But it was shocking how few fans showed up and still claiming 65,000 people.

These numbers are usually all about gamesmanship.

Some tell the truth. Some inflate the numbers for agendas.

60K that is....but the point is still the same

There was no more than 25,000 people at the Gator Bowl if that many

In fact all the Florida early Jan 1 games looked a bit shoddy in attendance

I agree with you. I even posted the exact same thing in the Georgia Nebraska game thread. I added, "obviously, a lot of no shows."

As stated, the figures are greatly inflated based on the 30,000 tickets that went to Georgia and Nebraska and still counting even though 15,000 were returned. The B1G bought Nebraska's 10,000 or so that were returned, and the SEC might have purchased the 5,000 returned by Georgia.

I read where the SEC does not cover all returned tickets from an article on LSU. The B1G covers ALL returned tickets. The 5000 and 10000 numbers were less than that but those were the last reported numbers. I am sure in today's papers it is more up to date.
