Announced Attendance

All Attendance figures are inflated because they count tickets given away, tickets sold but not through the turn styles, all tickets that the schools were supposed to sell but did not.

New Orleans Bowl Tulane Louisiana Lafayette 54,728
Las Vegas Bowl Fresno State USC 42,178
Fight Hunger Bowl BYU Washington 34,136
Texas Bowl Syracuse Minnesota 32,327
Military Bowl Marshall Maryland 30,163
Hawaii Bowl Boise State Oregon State 29,106
New Mexico Bowl Washington State Colorado State 27,104
Little Caesars Bowl Pittsburgh Bowling Green 26,259
Poinsettia Bowl Utah State Northern Illinois 23,408
Idaho Potato Bowl Buffalo San Diego State 21,951
Beef O Brady Ohio East Carolina 20,053

What do we learn so far?

The Bowl game wants teams from their state. New Orleans scores with a home town school and a state school. The usual fan attendance for Maryland. The bowl is played in Maryland and they pull in just 30,000 attendees.

Las Vegas sort of scores because LA is just a 4.5 hour drive from Las Vegas.

Looks like the fan bases of northern schools are not traveling well. Not just one conference, but all conferences.

No teams from the SEC or Big 12 have played yet.

Take a look and see what tickets from the Rose Bowl are going for and tell me that the Spartans aren't traveling well (this year at least, who knows when we will be there again).

This one is especially pathetic considering the proximity of Maryland. Shit the bowl game is in Annapolis a whooping 1/2 hr drive from College Park.

I assume the BCS Bowls will have good attendance.

Iowa seems to be selling well. Nebraska not so well. How is Michigan selling? How is Wisconsin selling?

Let's see how the Advocare Bowl does, Sun Bowl, GoDaddy Bowl, and the Armed Forces Bowl does.

From what I heard Michigan fans do not want to make the trek out to Arizona. I believe I heard on the radio they did not sell out their allotment and had to send a ton of them back.

Michigan fans are very upset with the direction the team has been going and are not standing for the mediocrity that the Wolverines have been putting on the field. In the last 6 years the have missed two bowls, haven't sniffed a division title, have lost 5 times to Ohio State and Michigan State. The only rival that they have done well against is Notre Dame. But they will be able to see what the future might entail later tonight with Shane Morris behind center.

In 2012, Conferences and Schools ate $21,000,000 in tickets

ESPN says seven teams sold their ticket allotments. Notre Dame and Rutgers are two of those seven.

Fiesta Bowl
UCF returns 10,000 tickets
Baylor returns 5,000 tickets

BWW Bowl
Michigan returns 4,500 tickets
K State returns 5,000 tickets

Orange Bowl
Ohio State could return 9,000 tickets

Outback Bowl
Iowa might return 200
LSU had only sold 1/2 of their allotment.

The B1G BUYS all unsold team tickets. The SEC does not cover ALL unsold tickets. Interesting.....

OMG, the amount of tickets Boise State sold/distributed for the Hawaii Bowl = 700!!!!!!!!!!!! SEVEN HUNDRED. that is 1000 - 300 = 700. No commas.

Music City Bowl
Ol Miss sold them all and is selling MORE. Ol Miss is 9-1 in their last ten bowl games.

Chick Fil A
DUke had to sell 18,500 tickets and almost has.
Texas A&M sold all of them

Belk Bowl in Charlotte NC
North Carolina has sold 7,000 of its 12,500 allotment

Gator Bowl allotment is 15,000
Nebraska will be returning around 12,000, but that is news from two weeks ago.
Georgia expects to sell 7,500 and return 7,500

In 1983 we bought our Sugar Bowl tickets from Michigan at face value. That is the dirty little secret of SEC schools if you play a bowl game against northern teams just be patient and you can get face value tickets through their allotment after a short wait for their fans to purchase.

Of course this doesn't work in the case of a national championship game but most other games it is a gimme and easy to do.

It is also cheaper for smaller bowls to wait and purchase from the bowl itself as the school allotment is usually a higher price. Georgia and LSU both will travel well to the Outback and Gator Bowls.

Unless your team hasn't played in the Rose Bowl for 26 years then those tickets start going for $1000 a pop,

Expect the Fiesta Bowl to have about 40K people, if that:

Baylor, UCF returning more than 15,000 unsold 2014 Fiesta Bowl tickets - SBNation.com

Fucking pathetic by both fan bases. You're 1st BCS bowl ever, might be the only one ever for both schools and they can't sell out their allotment. If you can't afford it, then your school doesn't deserve a BCS bowl bid, period.

Baylor traditionally has few fans in attendance, unless they are hosting Texas or Ou, and then it's traditionally been half orange or crimson.

I knew they would not have many fans there.

TCU had no problem selling their allotment when they went to the Rose Bowl back in '10, and they are about the same size as Baylor is. Baylor alumni/fans/students should be ashamed of themselves.

Based on the number of Iowa decked out vehicles on the road around Tampa, I'm going to guess that Iowa will be well represented in the Outback...not so sure about LSU.

Alamo Bowl, Tex/Oregon, sold out 65,000. Oregon sold all of it's 9500 allotment. Predicted to be a 80-20% Texas fans/Oregon fans.

Said that is possible it will surpass last years Chck-fil-A bowl of #14 Clemson vs #8 LSU as Espins best-ever non-BCS pull, which averaged 8-6 million viewers and 5.6 Nielsen.
