I am here!

For the first time in a long time though, I am not really excited. I don't know if its how busy I have been, the real lack of change on the line-up, last year's lockout.. or just a case of the "I know how this story goes" - but for the first time in a long time I am just not that jazzed.

Hopefully they can get off to a good start, Patty can remain consistent, Thornton can step it up a little bit more and ding-dong can stay out of Banahan's office.. and Capt. Glass won't need to borrow Humpty Dumpty's repair crew.

I guess we will see!

I too am here of course...

As for a sense of this season: Kennedy and Torres can make a difference. They are both likely double digit goal scorers who have the potential to make a major impact in the top 9. Also, the young D could go either really well or horrible. Hertl could be a solid top 9er or fizzle into nothing.

Simply put, I am actually a bit optimistic and if the stars align just right, the sharks could be a real contender. Havlat has to come back healthy mid season, Kennedy needs to revert to form of a few years back, Torres has to do what he did last year without ending up in the press box, the young D guys like irwin, braun, and demers need to develop well at both ends, Hertl needs to play a major top 9 role and put in double digit goals, and the aging vets need to remain healthy. If ALL of these things happen, then the sharks are a force to be reckoned with (last year's team vs LA + Hertl, Kennedy, torres, Havlat would be pretty good). However, if torres gets suspended, havlat never returns to full form, the young D shows their inexperience and/or the 34+ year old vets feel the dawn of time, then it will be a painful season.

This really could go either way.

Should be interesting, I'm looking forward to seeing Ralphie Torres play with patty and Logan and seeing pavelski set career highs in numbers being the 3rd line center for an entire season, could be a good one.

Look forward to seeing stalock too

Yeah... I know - its kind of sad. To be honest, I was much more die-hard when I was single  and not flying 200K miles a year. :der:

Let's do this! With realignment, I think the Sharks were placed in a favorable division. Just make the playoffs and take it from there.

Go Sharks!

Hertl and Nieto are a breath of fresh air. I'm gonna love the speed and scoring ability Nieto brings. Same for Kennedy. Our snail play is a thing of the past.

Man, I was excited to see Raffi Torres in teal for a full season. Hopefully he makes a fully recovery.
