tommy had his first bad game of the year, and it wasn't even that terrible. 8-18 for 2TD 2INT, ran for 57, lost in the state title 34-14
So he choked on the big stage eh? I'd say 44 percent completion and 2 interceptions is pretty terrible.
After you read the story, let me add a few other items Jared shared with me that certainly make the gap between Nebraska and Washington seem like a big one.
Academics is a huge deal for Jared and his family. He likes that the campus itself and the athletic facilities are so close in that regard as well. So I asked, 'Is that different than the schools you've visited?'
"Yeah, at Washington, everything is all over the place. You'd have to have 20 minutes in between one class to get down to the stadium. It's not like that over here."
Then I asked with his announcement so close, did Nebraska put any pressure on him during the visit to commit. He, like many others said, "No, no pressure at all..."
Then in his next breath goes, "Washington, they put on a lot of pressure."
So I asked, did you like that or does it even matter what kind of push you get during a visit?
"I love Nebraska man, they didn't pressure at all. Washington wanted me to commit right there and I was like, 'I'm trying to go visit Nebraska, I'm not trying to commit right now...'"
