with them changing the lotto rules and whoever wins the lotto gets the top pick.

go back in time to 2011 when the devils won it. they snag the #1 pick. not knowing what we know now do the devils still go with larrson?

then knowing what we know now would we still take larrson? or would you want someone else? or even trade the pick

I actually wanted Landeskog, and I think he's probably the best of that crop, and the most suited for the Devils. Tough to pass up a potential franchise blue liner though. Give Larsson another year or 2 and see where he's at, I don't think he's anywhere near reached his potential yet.

I think the Devils lucked out big time with Larsson falling to them. I remember wanting Strome cause I figured he'd be there at 5.

I thought there was no way Larsson was getting past the Isles if he was gonna fall a little.

Lou always says they go best player on the board so I think they take RNH.

You're probably right. RNH should not have been playing last year. He wasn't physically mature enough, still may not be. That's the problem with Edmonton is they don't develop talent, they simply throw them into the fire and let them flounder at the NHL level.

Isles still have Strome waiting and even Florida let Hubreadau sit for a season. Larsson and Landeskog were the only guys said to be NHL ready from 2011.

besides the devils going another route...would you want someone else? going into the draft that night would you pick someone other then larrson with #1.

RNH seemed to be the consensus number 1 guy. He seems like he'd be the logical choice to go first overall regardless of who was picking.

Wanted Larsson then and I still do. We needed a Dman and that's what the team drafted.

Knowing what we know now, I would have been happy to trade down in hopes of getting more draft picks or prospects. The top of that draft looks very good already. Imagine getting picks #8 and #9 and grabbing Couturier and Hamilton.

I still take Larsson, no doubt!! Lou wouldn't touch RNH cuz he doesn't play both ends of the ice..... the only other person I would consider is Landeskog but he has concussion issues
