Flames don't play Vancouver until December 1st - That's a long time to wait for trash talk ;-)

just mean six times all squeezed into when it counts the most.

Ooh, nice roadtrip for nucks in Nov:
MTl, TOR, OTT, BUF, PIT, the come home to a waiting CHI.
last four games of the year are against the division, closing out in Calgary.
seems so nicely spread out compared to last year :)

Interesting that the home and home teams the Sharks play from the Eastern conference are New Jersey, Buffalo and Washington, and all teams were division winners. I wonder if that was coincidence or the strategy the league used for which extra out of conference teams to schedule.

Canucks PR on schedule. I added some canucks edits that they forgot to add in bold

CANUCKS TO CELEBRATE THEIR 40TH (AND COUNTING) NATIONAL HOCKEY LEAGUE SEASON WITHOUT A STANLEY CUP THROUGHOUT 2010.11
This season celebrates 40 Years of the Game We Love and BC’s Biggest Family Reunion

The Vancouver Canucks, in conjunction <with little input> with the National Hockey League, released their 2010.11 regular season schedule today. Vancouver will launch the another cupless season long celebration for their 40th anniversary at home, Saturday, October 9th versus the Los Angeles Kings, 40 years to the day they played the Kings at the Pacific Coliseum in the franchise’s first game in the NHL.

The Canucks will celebrate their 40th anniversary of no historical value throughout the entire 2010.11 season with a series of signature nights that will honour and celebrate the club’s history of losing in 2 Stanley Cup Finals, engage and encourage fan participation and salute the loyal and passionate Canucks fans that will continue to soak up the mediocrity that 40 years of being a Canucks team has brought.

“This season promises to be very special for our fans and our organization,” said Mike Gillis, Canucks President and General Manager. “We have a number of exciting initiatives planned and we look forward to sharing these experiences with Canucks fans all season long, as this will most likely distract them from me making any significant moves that would make us a real contender and make the fans believe its because of cap restraints and building for the future.

The first signature night for the Canucks will be opening night when Vancouver plays host to their 2010 Stanley Cup Playoff opponent, the LA Kings. The Kings and Canucks also met 40 years to the day in Vancouver’s inaugural season. Further information about many of the initiatives planned for the Canucks 40th anniversary, including the additional signature nights, will be unveiled on July 7th at the club’s annual ‘Canucks Summer Summit’ (formerly referred to as the ‘State of the Franchise’), where we will feed the fans bad hotdogs and charge overpriced beer even though it is off season, since we have to soak them for more money.

The Canucks 2010.11 schedule once again features games versus every NHL team at least once. Vancouver will play six games against each Northwest Division club (24 total) and four games against each of the 10 non-divisional clubs in the Western Conference (40 total). The Canucks remaining 18 games are split into nine home and nine away games all against Eastern Conference opponents. Vancouver will play a home and road game versus each of the Canadian based Eastern Conference teams; Toronto, Ottawa and Montreal.

DATES TO REMEMBER:
October 9 40th Season Opener vs Los Angeles Kings (40 years to the day of inaugural game)
November 20 Stanley Cup Champion Chicago Blackhawks visit General Motors Place for first time to rub it in the Canucks faces for a 2nd ass-kicking in a row
December 18 Toronto Maple Leafs visit General Motors Place on a Saturday night and all clowns that night will become jerks for no reason other than to wear the blue Maple Leaf (after putting away their Canuck jersey for one night)
December 28 Stanley Cup finalist Philadelphia Flyers visit General Motors Place and will beat the Canucks again extending a winless streak at home against the Flyers that spans over 15 years
January 30 NHL useless boring, overated All-Star Game at Carolina
February 7 Ottawa Senators visit General Motors Place
February 12 Hockey Day in Canada - Canucks vs Calgary Flames
February 22 Montreal Canadiens visit General Motors Place
April 9 Regular season finale at Calgary Flames where the Canucks should most likely celebrate another great regular season while awaiting the Luongo Mental Meltdown and Canucks Management reading all the excuses for rebuilding the useless scrub players they brought in the year before

SCHEDULE NOTABLES:
The 2010.11 Canucks schedule features 11 back-to-back series. The Canucks longest home stand is six games from February 19th to March 3rd and the longest road trip is five games (twice) between November 9th and 17th and January 11th to 18th.

SCHEDULE BREAKDOWN:
The 2010.11 schedule includes 15 home stands and 15 road trips. The Canucks play a total of 25 weekend games with Saturday being the busiest day of the week for the Canucks this season with 15 games falling on that day.

PRE-SEASON SCHEDULE:
The Canucks will play eight useless money making pre-season games beginning September 21 and concluding October 1. In total, the Canucks will play four pre-season games at General Motors Place and four on the road. Each game features a Western Conference match-up: Anaheim (2), Calgary (2), Edmonton (2) and San Jose (2).

ON THE AIR:
Every Canucks game, including pre-season games, can be heard on the radio on the Team 1040 AM. A complete broadcast schedule will be released at a later date.

After all that is said. Im looking forward to the hope of another season to run for the Cup... but I better see some good strong hockey choices from Gillis this Summer.
