They underachieved all year. Jared Stoll had a really off year, Penner was aloof for most of the season and Doughty and Johnson (before he was traded) didn't have all that strong of seasons for them. I also think it took awhile for all of the pieces to mesh, but they also needed to get rid of Terry Murray. This team is dangerous right now.....they're all believing they can do it. I thought it would be a bad matchup for the Canucks. I still thought the Canucks would win, but I thought it would take them 7 games.
It doesn't hurt that Dustin Brown is playing like he's had a two-ton weight lifted off of his shoulders. I think Mike Richards has been good for him (just a hunch, nothing I've read or heard). They've got a ton of leadership on that team with Richards, Scuderi, Stoll and Greene to help Dustin out.
Good for the Kings fans, they've been waiting a long time for a team they can be this proud of. Even if they don't win the Cup, this team is playing with passion and a purpose.

Darryl Sutter is a fantastic short term coaching solution. His track record is he gets great results immediately and then things start to tail off. I'm enjoying this Kings run through the playoffs thus far.

I thought that the kings would win this series, but i am shocked at how the blues have put up almost no fight.

I think we may be looking at the first ever 8 seed to win the cup

Kings are impressive as hell. The things that scare me about this season are how tough it's going to make the trade market in the Central:

We all know the Holland wants to bring in some big name UFAs, make trades, shake things up.

The Hawks have been very public about the first round not being acceptable, and will be trying to beef up their lineup.

Nashville, unless they win the Cup, are probably going to blow their load this summer on UFAs, trades, anything to make that leap to a Cup.

Davidson knows his time is now. His team has a bunch of young guys who will need raises soon, and he's going to want to capitalzie on his window.
