Nope. But who is mentoring these guys? Seems like we have had a lot of minor leaguers suspended both for PEDS and for non-Peds. Somebody is not getting the message through to these kids.

They need to do better at hiding that shit. Hopefully that means that they've got Montero juicing again.

Its non PED suspension so most like weed. We can't do anything right. Blue Jays still haven't been caught!

Totally agree. It is one thing to cheat to gain advantage, but to cheat for pleasure and lose 50 games and pay? That better have been good stuff.

given that ped "testing" in pro baseball is a tremendous joke, it just shows that these 2 kids are fucking stupid.

the only way any MLB player could ever get caught is if they're lazy or stupid.

But maybe their arms were tired so it was for medical use? Testing in general is stupid, without PED's baseball wouldn't be televised anymore.

Upon his hiring, the responsibility fell on Gillick to trade Ken Griffey, Jr. to Cincinnati after Griffey played out his final season in Seattle. The Mariners made back-to-back playoff appearances for the only time in franchise history in 2000 and 2001.

And that Perez guy was suppose to be the center piece of the deal turned out to be jack squat. And since this thread was about PED it seems perfect to bring up Mike Cameron.

I never heard of Cameron being associated to PEDs. Not saying he didn't since about everyone did back then, but just never heard that before.

We had great offers at the time for Perez and we turned them down. Better to trade a player a year too early than a year too late. We should have dealt him, but he ain't the first to make that mistake.

The one thing I will agree with with Gillick is that he didn't draft well for us. His top 5 players he drafted for us never made a difference for us even though they had decent careers.

1- Adam Jones
2- Jason Hammel
3- John Axford
4- John Mayberry Jr.
5- Gabe Sanchez

I'm not an advocate for weed. I gave the shit up 20 years ago. But a 50 game suspension for weed is ridiculous. Baseball, football, basketball and hockey need to get with the times. The states are moving toward legalization for recreational use, and it won't be long before the federal government is on board. There should still be a penalty until it is legal, but 50 games is way too many.

Using a drug that is legal or de-criminalized in 15 states draws a 50 game suspension. Throwing at a batter's head draws a maximum 10 game suspension. Stupid.

I can't see the pro sports leagues changing their stance on weed until it is legal or decriminalized in at least half of the US and the sports leagues either do their own research or read the research that is already out there on the benefits of using weed to relieve pain vs. using prescription pain killers. Right now, pro athletes, especially in contact sports like football, are popping prescription pain meds like PEZ and sooner or later, the pro leagues are going to want to address that if they really care about the well-being of their players (I know... that likely won't be their actual motivation, but still).

Can't say for sure cause he wasn't ever in Tacoma but if you just look at photos and put the two together, he look bigger than ever in Seattle and his game slipped badly once he lost his weight. PED's or not that dude has the best instincts of any fielder I have ever seen.

Agree with the instincts part for sure. I just think he matured physically, but who knows these days. I liked the guy and wish we could get another one like him back here.

No doubt, baseball would be better off with guys who loves the game and plays with that passion. Baseball needs to be treated more like a game by guys than a job.
