Not really. They win next week, they're in. Done deal. This isn't rocket science.

Not quite, I can think of one scenario

Wisconsin wins out...Oklahoma wins out...those two are in

Auburn beats Alabama and beats Georgia again

Auburn as the SEC champ is in

Alabama only has one loss to the SEC champ, Miami is the ACC champ but has the same amount of losses and their loss is to Pitt...plus there's Alabama's reputation

I think Miami gets left out in this case, and only this case

OK......if they lose to SC, sure it does. Barring that, the ACC champ is in.

Pac 12 is pretty much out.

B10 Champ in
SEC champ in
B12 champ (only if it's OU) in
ACC champ in

What if Ohio State loses tomorrow and the beats Wisconsin in the CCG?

It was to do with his argument regarding Wisconsin being good recently.
Fair enough, but we all should only be concerned about this season, for now.

See then it’s not just that simple, things can happen, just like the pitt game....

Did I read your comment correctly? Are you suggesting that if Bama loses to Auburn and doesn't get to play in the SEC CG, they will still be one of the 4 teams in the playoffs?

If the committee is consistent, Miami would get the nod because who they beat. But I thought Miami already had the better resume to be #1 the past two weeks but I was wrong.

Edit: And Miami would be a Conf. Champ

You don't believe me

Mississippi State has shown no reason to rank them and yet they were ranked 14th, LSU lost to Troy and is ranked 18th

South Carolina has lost to Kentucky and beaten nobody of note all year and the committee snuck them in at 24th

do you really believe the committee will blow this opportunity to put two SEC teams in???

Alabama will have faced what, two currently ranked teams, and went 1-1 against them. Was struggling against Mississippi State. What exactly have they done this year to be able to go over Clemson or Miami who would have the same record but no division or conference title?

If I was on the committee I would have Miami over Alabama in my made up scenario that probably won't happen

but the thing is...I'm not on the committee

I would like to be wrong, but from what I've noticed from the committee this year I think Miami gets left out

It's not a matter of me believing you or not, it's just I can't see Bama getting into the playoffs when they didn't win the SEC. I know it has happened before, but IMO it shouldn't happen again. Nevertheless, who the hell am I?

It’s possible. See 2016 Ohio State.

I would certainly disagree with the decision if Alabama does get in over Miami, but I fear that's what will happen. They have Alabama ahead of them now and Alabama would still be ahead with a gap (even if they're next to each other in the rankings) after a loss to Auburn
