Solid game for Fleury, he was the difference.

Neal is awesome. You don't really notice him out there too much, until he's set up for a shot. Then it's in the back of the net. I think I heard a stat that he's got 10 or 11 goals (vs. only 3 assists) and all but 1 of them have been assisted by Crosby or Malkin.

I hear Gogo has been a healthy scratch of late? Of course I know there was trade speculation on him as well. I dunno, not really paying attention to the West with no games against them this year. I think that will forever be my favorite trade. Niskanen has become such a steady guy back there too.

Neal is just such a nice fit in Pittsburgh. He's a guy who doesn't create for himself, but he's great at finishing the good chances he gets. Sid and Geno create good chances. He's the perfect complementary piece to those guys.

And $5 million per year for his goal scoring pace? Yes please.

And yeah, Niskanen's been very solid. He doesn't do anything very impressive, but he seems to make the right play almost every time.

I couldn't believe Dallas was that stupid. If Pittsburgh can afford Crosby, Malkin, Neal & Benn, Dallas should have been able to keep Neal & Benn. Now they're paying guys like Jagr, Whitney & Roy over 4M plus per. I have no idea what Niewy's plan is, but it's not working.

They got a new owner after that trade though, right? That one, beyond showing Shero's whipping of Niewendyk, shows just how overvalued offensive minded dmen are. They're important, but man oh man did they overvalue him.

Yeah they have a new owner. The Stars need to win. They seem to have a hard time filling their building. After a game last year Mike Ribeiro was interviewed & he actually brought it up. Now Lehtonen is hurt. It could be tough.

Goal scorers are more valuable than Offensive defenseman period. The Pens got Niskanen as well. Just an awful deal by Niewy. He got schooled.

I didn't believe the deal when I saw it. I thought either someone was pulling my leg, or there was some major piece from the Penguins missing from the report.

I have a hard time believing Dallas couldn't have gotten a better deal from another team. Hats off to Shero. He pulled off one heck of a trade.

Hahha, I remember the aftermath. I was pretty convinced through out the day that Neal was coming regardless, but for who? Then it hits twitter, piece by piece. "James Neal is heading to Pittsburgh!" "Looks like Goligoski is heading to Dallas in return." "More to the deal, I'm sure." "There is more! Niskanen, who's been written off as a lost cause, is going to Pittsburgh." "We expect more to come." *hour later* "So, that's it. No really...that's...that's um...it."

Still one of my favorite pictures. I remember wanting Jamie Benn more, but man Neal is just the perfect fit. I meannnn, I'll take Benn too
