"team" =/= "franchise"
The same person running the franchise from 2003-2007...is running it now...you can disagree, being wrong is one thing you do really well..

BOSTON (CBS) — The Patriots aren’t expected to be in on the action of the early part of the first round of Thursday night’s NFL Draft, but that doesn’t mean they won’t be busy this afternoon.
According to the Boston Herald’s Jeff Howe, the Cleveland Browns “have continued to show interest in acquiring Mallett.”
The Patriots want a second-round pick in return for Mallett, according to Howe, who noted that the Browns do not own a second-round pick this year. The Patriots have a pick in each of the first three rounds but don’t own any picks in rounds four through six.
The Boston Globe’s Greg Bedard also reported that “multiple” teams have shown an interest in acquiring Mallett, with the Patriots’ asking price being a second-round pick this year or a first-round pick next year. Bedard lists the Browns as a potential favorite, while adding the other trading partners aren’t known.
Whatever the case, it’s clear that teams may like the idea of the quarterback with two years of practice under Tom Brady over some of the less-refined passers coming out of college. Mallett has just four NFL pass attempts, completing one and throwing an interception on another.
As is always the case with the Patriots on draft day, we’ll have to stay tuned.
