Used to post these all the time on KFFL, Over the years I have acquired several good friends around the country who are fans of other teams. They all have a love for the draft like I do, so we started doing these mocks years ago. I draft for the Eagles, trades are allowed. We usually do these weekly leading up to the draft. I will post the last one in its entirety, but this is what I did for the Eagles this time.

Trades:
Both of these trades were offered to me, I took them both since I thought they represented value

1. Vinny Curry and Pick 113 to Oakland for Pick 35 and pick 68 - This one was offered at first as a 2nd and 4th (Comparisons Hugh Douglas deal to Eagles), I said no wanted a 2 and a 3. We came upon this deal. Pass rusher are at a premium in this league, personally think if we wanted to trade Curry we could get a 2nd and a lower pick.

2. Brandon Boykin to Maimi for a 4th this year and a conditional 2016 (could be as high as a 3rd depending if Maimi resigns Boykin). I don't think Chip really like Boykin so the deal made some sense.

Draft:

Just to clear it up quickly Mariota went 2nd.

#20 Shane Ray OLB Missouri - Honestly he is not going to be there at 20 but he was here. Interesting that Waynes, Landon and Jalen Collins, Bud Dupree, Todd Gurley and Jalen Strong all went ahead of him. I just think somebody was asleep at the wheel. However it does beg the question if a player like Ray, or Dupree is there at 20 does Chip pull the trigger?

#35 (f Oakland) Byron Jones CB Connecticut - Big run on corners so I grab the best one left. Although I think ultimately he may be a safety

#52 Hroniss Grasu C, Oregon - Duck baby. Grasu can play center and guard.

#68 (f Oakland) Chris Conley WR Georgia - WR has to be addressed, Conley is a freak athlete however it does not always translate on the field

#82 Donovan Smith OT, Penn State - Value pick I really think he is gone by this point but I can definitely see double up on taking offensive lineman

#114 Garrett Grayson QB, Colorado State - Could develop into a solid backup in this league

#145 Justin Cox CB, Mississippi State - Has the size Chip is looking for

#156 Eric Dargan S, Oregon - If it walks like a Duck and Quacks like a duck

#196 Tony Washington OLB Oregon - The it must be a duck

#237 Deon Barnes DE PSU - This pick was a homer pick.

Overall I hate trading Curry and Boykin but both are free agents at the end of next year. Neither will ever start for this team. So I got value for them. I think I address the positions of need as well as brining in some more competition. Would not surprise me if Chip does something similar, like not taking who we think in round 1 then addressing CB, WR, Offensive line with his next picks, the hitting S and corner again later.

That Vinny Curry deal would be absolutely amazing for us. Dudes most likely a goner after this year -- he's a natural 4-3 DE and doesn't fit in this defense unless in situational downs with 4 down lineman.

Shane Ray at #20 is pretty much a no brainer regardless of our OLB situation. That's too much value at a premium position to ignore (unless we get a sweet trade down offer), but it doesn't really matter because like you said - no way Shane Ray will last to #20 later this month.

Love me some Byron Jones!! That would be an ideal position to grab him at #35 after the Curry trade. No way he last to our own 2nd round pick, and I personally wouldn't be surprised if Jones went late 1.

Chris Conley is another player I really like. He has all the physical tools you look for. Played in a run heavy offense and didn't get as many opportunities as he should of. I wish there was more tape on him, but from what I've seen I've came away pretty impressed. Good character and work ethic guy too - Fits the Chip Kelly culture.

Ive always had a 'top 20' grade on Ray. Hes a smaller Robert Quinn which makes him limited in scheme.

WOW, TAZ usually you and I are in agreement when you do these, I absolutely do not like these early picks....I think Ray is over rated....I do not like Byron Jones even a little bit at CB, at Safety maybe, I think he is a human penalty flag....I like Grasu I'm ok with Conley, I love Donovan Smith and will have him in my Mock....the rest is mehhhh for me. But those first 2 picks killed me.

Conley doesn't excite me as much as some other WRs.

I do like Grasu and we have to take an interior lineman in the middle rounds.

I think there is a chance Ray could make it to 20. There are some split opinions on him, and he's kind of a tweener. I wouldn't pass on him at 20. Explosive pass rusher that we should find a way to use.

There is no way Vinny Curry has that kind of value around the league - that trade is a pipe dream. If we actually got something like that offered I would jump through the TV and make it happen myself.

The Boykin proposal makes more sense and I can see a trade like that happening if they move him. I would rather they use him to move up in the 1st to get a certain guy if he falls farther down (i.e. DeVante Parker, Amari Cooper)

Shane Ray would be nice in our scheme but not sure he lasts until 20 and he has issues defending the run. Body type that I'm not sure can be maxed out more than he already is.

I think people are getting sucked into Byron Jones workout #'s, caveat emptor. I like Peters much more - doesn't test as well, but a better football player.

Conley makes sense in the 3rd if we don't take a WR in the first two rounds. Seems to fit the profile we're looking for at the position, read a nice article on him the other day. I like your lineman picks but I wouldn't be surprised if they added a blocking TE to replace Celek down the road in the later rounds.

I'm just throwing this out there, but I wouldn't be surprised if we drafted an inside linebacker (Stephone Anthony/Benard McKinney) in the 2nd (or if we trade down out of the 1st), especially if there's legs to the rumours of Kendricks being shopped. Both big long guys that Chip likes at the position.

I think a lot of your picks are realistic. They are the kind of players Chip seemingly will value.

I know that Ray would be a coup, but we need:
WR
OL
S
CB

Before we draft another pass rusher.

That is exactly how you wind up with the Marcus Smiths of the world when you draft for need in round 1. I looked at the best player left on my board and it was Ray and I took him. I would have taken Jake Fisher if Ray wasn't there. I really thought Fisher would last but he was grabbed by Pittsburgh at 22.

As far as the Curry trade goes, young pass rusher who had 9 sacks last year in a limited role in a system he is not really fit for. Yeah he is worth every bit of a 2nd and 4th round pick, just like Hugh Douglas was. Would we get a 2nd and a 3rd probably not in the same year but hey the guy went for so I made the deal.

As far as Bryon Jones, I think he ultimately winds up at safety and that might just be what Chip is looking at. I think he has a chance to be a star at safety and solid at CB.

Taz I'm with you if we could pull that trade off for Curry, but I don't think realistically he has that kind of value around the league that someone would trade a pick(s) that high for him.

I've thrown this scenario out there for thought already, but with Randy Gregory's recent issues, what if you replaced Ray with Gregory? It might be more realistic that he falls to 20 instead of Ray, and has more potential in our scheme IMO (only because he has more physical upside).

If it weren't for the drug issues (and I'm not trying to downplay that, the guy may have a serious addicition that could kill his career before it starts), this guy was a lock for the Top 5. I think he's better than Dion Jordan was coming out. I know we have greater needs, but it's not like we are stacked on the edge either. Top 5 talents don't potentially fall into the 20's very often, regardless of if they have issues or not.
