So, recently I put a new battery in my commuter car. Now the radio says "code", which I've never seen before. Doing a little research this is supposedly an anti theft mechanism for the radio... how that stops people from stealing the radio is beyond me, but I digress

So, I need the serial number from the radio to get the code from the Honda dealer. Does anybody know how to get the SN without taking the stereo out? Just curious if there was an easier way to get that serial number. I read that you can hit 1 & 6 and the radio will display the SN, but doesn't work on my radio.

I had that on my aftermarket CD player in my Prelude when I was younger. I hit it real hard with a hammer and it worked fine after that.

Yeah, unfortunately I don't have the manual and I don't see it in the glove compartment or anywher else. Oh well, guess I remove the radio this weekend.
