Right now, I have Westbrook in the lead for MVP with Harden nipping at his heels.

Harden is just going off right now...some unreal numbers.

I give the slight edge to Westbrook because of the better team record.

16-17 MVP will be Tebow after he realizes he sucks at all other sports.

If the Thunder finish with a top 4 record in the West then it's Westbrook's MVP to lose

Harden will have great numbers but the Rockets will likely be hovering around .500

Steph won't shoot as much this year to match Westbrook's crazy numbers. Plus voter's fatigue.

Lebron has gone Magic Johnson this year being the supreme distributer and allowing Kyrie the opportunity to blossom so he'll be in the discussions but the numbers will likely be 23-24 ppg 9-10 ast

If KD averages 30 and shoots 56-58 % he'll have an outside shot to win

But they don't, they gave Nash 2 MVPs.

LeBron is the MVP right now and it isn't close.

If people used common sense Lebron would be a 6-7 time defending MVP recipient right now.

You don't deserve to be in the MVP discussion when you refuse to play with anything less than two superstars in the weakest conference in NBA history.

PLEASE don't make this thread about that coward.

Anyhow, Curry just inserted himself into the conversation after last night.

I bet Harden before the season started at +2000 odds. So I've got a horse in this race.

1. Westbrook- He needs to lessen his to's, shoot a higher percentage.

2. LeBron- He's letting Kyrie carry the scoring load and doing everything else. Cavs still have their 0.

Nobody else in the convo. But, we aren't even 10 games in for goodness sake!!!

For those of you saying Harden, I guess it's cool to list Davis if stats are the only thing that matters.

Dame too.

The Rockets are not a good Team. They aren't as bad as NOLA. But, they look awful.

LOL at the facepalm and BS ratings.

In the end the MVP race will come down to 2 things:

1) How many games LeBron plays
2) How many games OKC wins

I think Westbrook may very well win this year because he has the better narrative, but do not tell me he is more valuable than LeBron.

People always find a reason not to vote for LeBron, but he has been the most valuable player in the league for the last 7-8 years. Trade him for Westbrook and OKC would be better and the Cavs would be a lot worse.

Kind of like how Jordan should have won every single year in his prime, but Karl Malone and Charles Barkley snuck in there.

Harden is easily the MVP right now.

WOW.

I saw an article yesterday asking whether Harden was the best player in the NBA. It just makes me laugh so hard.

NO! He is not!

He is being given the ball more and allowed to Handle even more responsibility in Dantoni's system, but he is still the same guy. His stats are off the charts, but we all knew this would happen. He is playing well, but I just have to chuckle at how people overreact to the stat sheet. There are quite a few players better than Harden regardless of what numbers he posts.

Opportunity is as important as talent in compiling a massive stat line. Most of the truly elite players don't have the opportunity that Harden and Westbrook do because they play on more talented rosters.

This thread is dumb.

No one wins MVP in October/November.

Let's see who's still doing this in April.
