Chambers has Penn State at 12-1 heading into conference play. A fairly weak schedule, good coaching and outstanding shooting from Newbill has this team rolling. Probably a NIT team but I predict a few upsets.

Last year at this time the B1G had 50% of the conference in the top 50 of the RPI. This year only 28% of the conference in in the top 50 of the RPI. All these upset losses are going to hurt the B1G on selection Sunday, very few quality wins to be had in conference. Wisconsin has a realistic shot at something like 17-1, or even running the table in conference. B1G way down from last year, which I think was to be expected, maybe not just this bad(given the losses)

I just realized Wisconsin doesn't play a ranked B1G opponent until February 24th. Has this ever happened this late in a season? By contrast a team like Texas Tech will have played 12 ranked teams by the time February 24th rolls around. That is crazy to me.

I dont know how to feel about my Hawkeyes. I thought 10-3 OOC ( ended 9-4 ) but we do have a good win and no bad losses so far. I think the only real concern is the scoring droughts, its very much like the 2012 team in that aspect. The D is much much improved though and to be frank there is probably only 1 team in the B10 at the level of Texas or Iowa State and only maybe 3 or 4 at the level of UNI so I think if Iowa can straighten out those scoring lulls they have had in the losses then this should be a 11 or 12 win B19n team. Looking forward to seeing it!!!

Still time for Minny, IU, Illini, and Hawks to creep up into the top 25 by 2/24.

Outside of Wisky, Nuts and Terps, the B1G doesn't have anything else other than a handful of fringe top 25 - NIT caliber teams. Nothing real ugly though either.

IU's currently 32nd. If we manage to beat Georgetown and win@Nebraska I'd put money on us making an appearance.

I would argue that our three last games were the three ugliest basketball games I've seen in some time.

Wisco plays both their games against Minny really late in the year as well lol. So even if the Gophers continue their climb...doesn't do much til later.

There's a chance you'll see an uglier game if you can't get it done against Loyola. Your last 3 opponents were somewhat respectable. I think Nebraska cruises in Honolulu tonight. I may have to check that score in the morning...11:30 pm tip...geez.

(Can't help but think of Hank Gathers and 1990 every time I see LMU somewhere)

Well it was ugly, but it would have been way worse if we lost. LMU was awful. I don't think they were aware that the shot clock existed...they had at least two violations that took them completely by surprise. And we still had to go to overtime :L

Yogi has been Mr. Clutch late in this GTown - IU battle. Since the Hoyas run in the 2nd this has been tight. OT.

Regardless of the outcome IU is a legit threat in the B1G.

Just wasted 3 hours of my beach vacation only to watch us lose in the end. We did play well except for Perea, who I get got shit on on defense, which is disappointing but expected. However he didn't do shit on offense either which was annoying.

I will be very interested to see how Maryland does in their first year. We all believed we were a year away with so many freshman, a transfer power forward not available yet, and a real weak front line. But their 12-1 start with wins at Oklahoma State and over Iowa State and Arizona State give some of us hope that they are a year ahead of schedule.

Still think that front line will catch up with them and I see them as a middle of the pack BIG team but probably good enough to go dancing in March

With Dez Wells back (especially once he returns to true mid-season form) your Terps are an upper tier, B1G team this season. Unless there's some kind of injury related collapse, you're going dancing.

I wouldn't be surprised if Maryland goes to East Landfill on Tuesday and puts a plug in Sharty's big mouth (won't be a cakewalk though).

Nice win to wrap up conference play against Buffalo. One of their players, Beardon, was a pretty good player one of the best high school teams in Wisconsin, Germantown High School. He's still got some refining to do, but overall he's a nice player. I guarantee Bobby Hurley will get his name thrown around for Power 5 jobs in a year or 2.

The Badgers had a poor first half, but overall it was a nice grind it out win.

I've been impressed with Maryland. Getting Dez Wells back only helps them be better. There's a lot of good, not great teams in the middle of the B1G. It will be a fun conference season.
