I am too for Tatum. But Tatum is 24, Butler 32. Maybe his young legs will make the difference. Other than age, it's hard to pick between them as the better player.

But I'm not sure JT has reached his ceiling yet. Dude's still growing as a player.

That's the scary part, for opponents. Tatum hasn't reached his ceiling yet.

There is absolutely nothing wrong with someone saying Luka has been the best in the playoffs so far. Hell, it truly might be the correct answer. Especially when you factor in he also did it against the Suns and heavy championship favorite.

But this is truly a dead heat imo when you factor in everything.

Does Luka's offensive numbers look gaudy at a glance? Hell yes.

Does he have the ball in his hands more than Jimmy? Yes.

But Jimmy also has the ball in his hands a lot and really sets the offense for the heat. One guy has 4 TOs a game, the other has 1.7. Think you know which is which.

We know Jimmy has the clear edge on D.

Now looks at their PER's for the playoffs. Luke is 25.36. Jimmy is 25.26.

Tatum went daddy mode when it mattered vs Bucks. But hes a very distant 3rd right now.

Oh definitely Giannis at 3.

I just left him off since hes out now. And hes the only eliminated player ahead of Tatum as well.

Another reason why I have Jimmy 1st is because the jump in his numbers compared to the regular season.

PPG: +7 PPG
RPG: + 2 RPG
APG: Same
FG%: +4.5%
3 pt %: + 13%
Slight decrease in turnovers per game as well

Luka
PPG: + 3 PPG
RPG: + 1 RPG
APG: - 2 APG
FG%- + 2%
3 pt % - 1%
Slight decrease in turnovers per game as well

Basically Luka is being Luka for the most part. There isn't a huge change in his play from the regular season. Slightly better while for Jimmy, there is a significant increase in production compared to the regular season. And as @mr.hockey4242 said Jimmy will always have the clear advantage on defense as well

Doesn’t change the fact he has a worse team around him. Luka is doing more with less. Still pretty close from either side. Both playing great

Look at the teams each of these players delivered those numbers against. Some defensively soft teams were in the first round and mediocres in second.

The players doing it against the top defensive is a perfect filter. Giannis is the best of the bunch. Then Luka

The Suns were a top 5 defensive team in the NBA, they were better than MIL especially with Middleton out. MIL was average this season WITH Middleton. Not to mention they were one of the best offensive teams too

This is what the world has come to: I am rooting for the fricking Miami Heat.

Someone has to stop the Celtics.

Honestly, I am not optimistic the Heat can beat the Celtics, but I sure hope they do.

Can't argue with any of this.
I'll take Luka.

I am not optimistic either team will win but I will pick one team to win and that team is Miami

I think most posters have picked against Boston in each of their series thus far.

I really thought the Bucks would win, once the series was underway, but I think I have picked Boston to start most of these series, and sadly I think they may win the title.
