Max Kellerman did have an interesting comment yesterday.

Someone(I think Reddick) said in a completely no disrespectful way how well Jimmy is playing while still not being considered a top 10-15 player.

Kellerman came back with something along the lines of, we all know the regular is overall pretty meaningless in a sport like this where 16 teams ultimately make the playoffs and you play 82 games and too much weight is put into the raw stats of guys in the regular season. But when a guy consistently performs at a top 5 level in the season that counts, shouldnt that tell you something?

Now, I personally even as a huge Jimmy guy dont have him top 5 overall. But I do find it insane how how often hes flat out ignored as a top 10 player.

If you want to win a title tomorrow, and you tell me there are 10 guys you are taking before Jimmy you are flat out wrong and should never be allowed to build a roster.

Totally agree with this. Borderline top 10 player. Funny thing is if Jimmy was more aggressive in the regular season as he is in the playoffs then he would easily avg 25+ ppg. The man avg 13 shots per game in yr 1 in miami then 14 the past 2 seasons. He treats the regular season like the marathon it is

Fans who saw the guy work for their team know the greatness of Jimmy Butler. I see a TWolves fan as effusive with his praise of Butler as many of us Philly guys have been. The magic is the fact that he does it at both ends. They say great players make the players around them better. That’s Butler to a tee. Hope dude gets his ring.

Yup and that was Kellerman exact point which I think was perfect.

Jimmy knows when to push it. And his roles on teams allow him to focus on other things during regular season. He will allow him to turn into basically a pure PG at times. Get the undrafted role players feeling good. Play good D.

Im guessing of all top 25/30 players he has the fewest games with 20+ FG attempts. He just doesnt do it in the regular season.

Dammit what Miami did last night in the second half was impressive.

Jimmy Buckets being Jimmy Buckets (dammit again!).

And I'm disappointed in Tatum's second half. Only eight points.

Tim Duncan is someone who didn’t really have crazy numbers compared to some of the other PFs or Centers, and yet he is considered one of the greatest of all time and the best PF ever.

Jimmy needs to win a ring or 2 before people truly recognize how great he is.

He is easily one of 10 best players in the NBA imo. People pay too much attention to stats sometimes. Many people were/are calling guys like Demar Derozan or Trae Young a better player than Jimmy and that’s just not true.
