Cheer me up
You got Sonny Gray for 2.5 years. If he turns out to be last year's version, the deal sucks. If he turns out to be the version from 2 or 3 years ago, its a good deal.

Thanks and agree
The pessimist in me says, ok, this package plus maybe another minor league piece could have brought back Chris Sale most likely?
The optimist thinks this should definitely put them over the top to win the division, because Montgomery is unreliable and hitting the wall, and Caleb Smith aint gonna cut it.....
With the addition of Gray and Garcia and the Sox sucking a mound of shit, I don't think the division is much of an issue. The question is whether it will put the Yankees in the Houston range. The Yankees were going to have to sign a starter this offseason anyway and now you get two full years of arb. control on Gray.

honest dirt, price not being around is GOOD news. i hope its season ending.Still 2 great adds, and a guy like Verlander (if they got bad news on Price) would easily clear waivers

why?
1 year to recover from TJ.
comes back in september next year, pitches 3 games to showcase himself, then opts out.

The Reds are nearing a deal involving lefty Tony Cingrani, per Zach Buchanan of the Cincinnati Enquirer (via Twitter). The destination is not yet known.

That guy will be miserable in that city before he walks away from that scratch he never sees again
