The article says it has been bothering him for a while. This weekend, he thought it was inflammation. Went in to get it checked, and they decided on the TJ surgery. Bad news for the Dogs. He's a good player and will be missed. Hope he recovers fully, seems like a good kid.

Apparently he has been playing in pain since last season. IIRC, he missed the NLDS because of it.
