Hey, if tzill can get into regular season shape with game day threads, why not one of his alts?

Today, the Giants play two games, in split squad fashion (one of my favorite parts of spring training are split squad games, as lesser known players get more playing time on these days). They are at home against the Diamondbacks (tentative lineup - 12:05 PST start time):
Conforto - dh
Haniger - rf
Proctor - ss
Davis - 1b
Bart - c
Piscotty - rf
Schmitt - 3b
Johnson - cf
Wilson - 2b
Wood - sp

And on the road against the Brewers (tentative lineup - 12:10 PST start time):
Diaz - 2b
Ramos - lf
Wisely - ss
Villar - 3b
Sabol - dh
Wynns - c
Coulter - rf
Alvarez - 1b
McCray - cf
Webb - sp

Hopefully, Ramos heats up this spring and it carries over into the regular season.
After the last two years, where he has had great springs but fell on his face in the regular season, I think there is zero chance he makes the team out of camp, but may have been told that if he performs well in real games, he will be on the short list for call ups.

I should have clarified that I meant he carries it over to Sacramento. I think that, if Slater isn't ready, both Sabol and Piscotty have a better chance of making the team than Ramos.

I wasn’t trying to correct you. Just adding my $0.02.

This Strotman guy has been awful so far in spring training. I don't even know why the Giants picked him up this offseason. His AAA numbers are pretty awful (of course, they match what most of the guys in Sacramento did last year . . . )

Road game: this is half of what you hope for -- guys either do really well or really suck. Makes the decisions easier. Strotman is phuking AWFUL.

2-4 bad guys.

Strotman: 0.2IP 5H 7ER 2BB 2HR.

It's tough to be that bad even if you're trying.

2-7 bad guys

Unless a couple of injuries occur, Piscotty does not have a chance to make the Opening Day roster. That said, he could become an option at some point if he proves he still has something left in the tank.

Both games complete moundshattery by guys who won't break camp with the team.

The other teams tend to destroy our “camp bodies”. Meanwhile, our projected roster can’t hit the other teams’ “camp guys”.

I still believe that spring numbers mean next to nothing, but I would certainly prefer to see good numbers from our guys trying to prove themselves than crap numbers.
