MBBRL Dynasty 1 IR slot discussion

The idea has been brought up to add an IR,with enough preliminary support that we should probably have a real discussion before finalizing a vote

I'm for a IR slot or two. Fine with player having to be on IR or pup to qualify for that slot. However not a big issue for me either way, just feel it would be nice if you have a valuable player out for the season to be able to IR him.

im good either way
if you have bad luck and maybe 3 or 4 IR i guess it would be nice to have an IR spot or 2

thus if a vote comes it is fine

if a vote doesnt come im fine as well

I think with it being dynasty, it really makes it tough if you get screwed with injuries because you can't exactly drop guys just because they are put on IR like in standard leagues, so I think at least one and possibly two IR spots would be great. But I am the new guy, what do I know

I would be fine with IR if the IR is for ALL season... if you put a player on IR then he can not be used at all for the rest of the season...

If the condition is IR or PUP, which would be the one condition iwould want...than same rules apply as in real life..
There would be no "out" or anything, player would have to be on real life IR or PUP

There's obviously enough support to being it to an official vote.

I would vote for one IR spot. Only filled by guy on IR officially.

Its a headache unless Fantrax automatically removes a player when they aren't eligible.

Which I think we'd have to pay for.

I wouldn't want to deal with it personally. But if everyone else does, I wouldn't object.

They automatically govern who can and can't be on the list given the conditions we set, after that, it'd be up to me and or OBX to enforce the "legal roster", I believe

I am on the fence with this one still because I like the strategy of havingto shorten your bench to keep the injured player. But I also know that that strategy helped lead to the issues we had this previous year.

I will probably abstain from voting on this one and go with whatever is decided.

These are my thoughts exactly. We have deep benches but they arent injury proof. If you have two or three guys on IR its hard to manage.

Another scenario that we will have to watch out for is suspended players. I believe ESPN allowed suspended players to be stashed so we will have to watch that.

The settings on fantrax....
Default-anyone flagged red...basically anyone designated "out" at any given time
Optional #1-only players on real life IR or PUP
Optional #2-allow suspended players to be placed on IR
Optional #3-allow players on bye to be placed in IR
really doubt anyone is for #2 or #3...should we chose to go with IR, and condition it to be only IR or PUP.. we simply have to check the box, fantrax will take care if the rest..for free.

The part that would be "premium" would be getting fantrax to automatically govern "illegal " rosters if a player was on the PUP, placed on our IR, and than activated say week 6,but is still on our IR...that part we'll have to govern...doesn't seem too difficult

Im all for option 1. It doesnt hurt anything and it gives a little roster flexibility to those that get hit with the injury bug.
