Never heard of that school before this thread.

tiny liberal arts school in Atlanta. probably a colossal waste of money

i knew a guy in HS that went there and uh, he wasn't exactly a genius

Individual, Weekly, Covid19 tests cost anywhere from $40 to $240 depending on which gouger you want to use.

For football

Assume 100 individuals would be tested, coaches, trainers, admins, ADs, student trainers, and the players. the home team probably will have to pay for the officials too.(I know, most big time schools have nearer to 200 or 300)

That is 100 * $40 = $4000 per week. That is the low end.

13 weeks in a season = $52,000.

That is just for football. throw in all the other sports the costs will go up.

This is a drop in the bucket for the power 5 schools, but the other schools are already operating at a loss, and this will only exacerbate their loss.

If the NCAA or government REQUIRES it, expect the price gouging to go up, because whenever the government forces things, the price ALWAYS goes up.

Ohio State has roughly 1000 athlete-students per week that is $40,000 on the low end. Put it on the high end, and the cost is $200,000 plus. Let's say 35 weeks of college and that could be $7,000,000. A million here, a million there, eventually you start talking about real money.

When do you stop testing an athlete student? When his/her sport is not mandatory?

obviously, if the student body is required then the school will just raise tuition to cover the tests(and then some, to cover their costs for the athletes, and make a profit). Every college in America is a for profit institution, even the poorly run ones are, they have absolutely no qualms about gouging people all the while crying they are poor.

If weekly testing is required, watch out for more sport shutdowns.
