First off thanks for another great season of soul 12. What a fun ride it was. As always the draft was a blast and the season was competitive and fun.

Few announcement going into 2019.

1. We will shake up the divisions as many have asked. That will happen sometime between now and July. It won't be a last minute thing. Probably sometime in the spring.

2. I had the same feeling many others contacted me about. I am 90% sure unless someone comes up with a great reason not to that we will switch our championship matchup/placing to week 13. There is the obvious reason of players dropping out of bowl games. I feel it will only continue to happen and we don't want people like The Q drafting all FR and true SOPHS to prepare for this. ;). I would hate to see a dominate team during the season lose only because 4 of their players sat out the bowl game. Most of us have been hit by this. I had N'Keal Harry and Karan Higdon this year and a few in the past, but besides the fact that players are sitting out their bowl game it also makes sense because there are other players not being bowl eligible that impact this. That has always been part of the league and it can happen to anyone. The bowl season has always been fun for soul 12 purpose and a big part of me hates to see that change, but I think enough is enough. There are several player who also have offseason injuries who elect to have an early surgery in preparation for the draft, whatever the case may be there is a good amount of players growing more and more that sit out the bowl game. This will allow people to play their best player come championship week and not have to worry about that as well as losing player due to not being bowl eligible. (The main reason though is due to player dropping out who are a big part of an owners fantasy success) It would have really sucked this year had someone had Will Grier, Kelvin Harmon, Justise Hill, N'Keal Harry and Karan Higdon on their fantasy team. It does benefit the people who remain healthy and build as much as they can throughout the season, but I think enough is enough with that situation. It is very aggravating. I have been thinking about this the past few years and REALLY was ready to call for this to change after this year and then I had several others text me requesting the same. I also feel like unless you're playing in the title game there is so little excitement for the other 10 members in the bowl matchups, so why prolong it a month?

3. We will have a new owner... Our beloved batchaps informed me late in the year he was not going to be able to return. I will introduce @DHoey as the next owner of Soul 12. He will take over Drain Bammaged (Batchaps) team and I will fill him in on rules, keepers, deadlines etc. He seems very eager as I contacted him two hears ago and heard back from him late after the two spots were filled, so he has been eyeing his entry for two years now.

as always, have fun, nobody jump off the ledge if you have a bad year (looks at Q)

Enjoy this thing.. It can be a lot of fun. Looking forward to the draft in late July as always.

Welcome. Here’s a quick rundown of how things go.

1) we make fun of Stevie every chance we get.

2) DC makes nick saban look like Charlie weis in this league.

3) if you take more than 5 minutes to pick at the draft, there’s an 83% chance I’ll be texting DC to get rid of you (full disclosure: I say that about everyone lol)

4) jB created the best spreadsheet of all time that makes scoring easy.

5) seriously...don’t take more than 4 minutes to pick

Did I miss anything, @Draft Crazy??

Yes. Important. Q is on suicide watch 24/7 in this league. Don’t touch him. He also drafts the most criminal players.

Love the idea of removing the Bowl period as championship week. It was hard to even fill out a lineup this year.

First off, I think we should make sure that the new guy knows the recently adopted rules that Q put in place this year:
- All teams must have only one competent QB on their roster. The second QB starter must be a spot-start every week and must have a season average of under 10 fantasy points per game. That quarterback must play for a team that runs the ball on 70 percent of offensive plays.
- The maximum number of starts per running back for the season is 2.5.
- No Wide Receivers may be drafted if they had more than 25 career receptions coming into the year.

Secondly, I want to take a few minutes to thank some of the people and players who led me to my first Soul 12 Overall Points Title. For years, I have languished in the mid-upper half of the league without having this type of breakthrough. Thanks to the bowl performance, I edged out Draft Crazy for the Overall Points Title by a score of 1871.5 to 1839.5. We'e had the league going for about 15 years or so and there were some times when I doubted if this day would come.

Needless to say, this all starts with Kyler Murray. Drafted as a keeper in 2017 in the middle rounds, he sat patiently on the bench until this year when he did not put up a single mediocre performance.

Next, the three-headed monster at RB. We thank Benny Snell and Trayveon Williams for their efforts this season and wish them well in the NFL. We will see AJ Dillon next year.

At Wide Receiver, Dillon Mitchell and Kalija Lipscomb put together tremendous numbers and deserve acknowledgements.

Additionally, we cannot forget the consistent kicking of Austin Seibert and all his extra points in the Big 12 shootouts.

Finally, to Draft Crazy, congratulations on a great run that eventually had to end. You have won the Overall Points Title many times but this year it was not meant to be. If some of your key players did not sit out of the bowls, you may have been close to challenging me for the Overall Points Title.

I just wanted to drop by with a thanks and farewell post to the league. I have been meaning to do this for a while now and apologize for the delay:

I want to thank @Draft Crazy for all of the help during the last two seasons and especially the last one. About a week or so before the draft, I realized that I was in over my head and really knew that it would be my last season. Just the diversity in offences across the land was too much for me to be able to recognize the true value in any player. The tools I had for the NFL a decade earlier were not available nor did I find any free ones that I liked. I had work and medical issues limiting my time so I was really lost.

So I approached the draft from the position that I wanted to leave my successor better keeper candidates than I left myself the season prior and win a few random games. I should have been more open about what was going on but was not until @Draft Crazy called me out in a PM and he was justifiably aggravated with me. I only mention this for a few reasons:
1. Draft Crazy handled everything properly. I cannot say enough how impressed I was with this. He saw a problem on my end and addressed it privately in a very constructive manner. There was never any animosity from him, only concern about keeping the league strong/fun.
2. Once he got my perspective, there was absolutely no ridicule or derision … only needed help.

I can't tell y'all how sorry I am for not being able to keep up with the league and how much I wish I could. I hate that my age/memory kept me from being competitive. I can tell y'all that I am sure that it is a great league with great people in it. I plan to watch some of the draft and will definitely keep reading the post draft analysis. Thanks again everyone and best of luck this season!!!!

It is a shame that it took a fantasy football league to let me know how stupid I really am. And all those years … I thought my friends were kidding! :suds:

Seriously, this is a great group. They are serious about college football and this league in the best of ways. It is a good, fun and friendly competition. Just keep in mind:
You are mostly competing against yourself because this is the year of the Q.

BTW it is not the age but the mileage killing me. It's like driving a 2015 F150 with 2.3 million miles.

You did fine Batchaps. Appreciate the time you put into the league. I was never angry with you. I was just concerned... Knew you had some health issues and your activity had dipped.

No need to apologize. It's a free league. You did fine.

Thanks. I know that you were not angry with me but I just wanted to let everyone know that you did an outstanding job expressing concern and was willing to help me through it, which was protecting the league. I know I had to be a big old pain in the butt but you never acted like that I was. I honestly cannot thank you enough for that and wanted that to be said publicly. If there is ever anything I can do for you, please let me return the favor.
