Overall disappointed that the Caps could not get over the top on this one at home. I honestly do not see a team left in the playoffs that can beat the Pens in a 7 game series. Maybe the Preds if they get in.

This team reminds me so much of the early 90's Red Wings. Great teams, but just can't get over that hump.

Maybe you just need to trade for a Shanahan type player, and at the trade deadline trade for a throwaway Leafs defenseman...

Idk what we need. I can't be disappointed in the team. They played a great series and I really think carried the balance of play. But hockey is cruel like that and the better team doesn't always win. Pittsburgh finished better and got clutch goaltending.

It's been a joy watching this team and all the great seasons and moments they have brought us for a decade or so now. It makes it more disappointing in a way, but those moments don't mean nothing either. They are still special.

I feel bad for my dad. He was at the first Capitals hockey game and he's 70 now. I hope he gets to see them win one. He texted me and my brother after the game tonight and said "sorry for making you guys into Caps' fan." Good one, dad. There are more important things in life, but I've loved hockey above all others, so to endure these dramatic and unbelievable failings over and over again is just rough. But I remain an optimist that one day it will happen. I just hope my dad gets to see it.

To the Caps fans good series. I would like to say sorry and best wishes down the road, but I can't do that with the team y'all root for.

To the people saying Ovi or the Caps choked. Remember that this was the two best teams in hockey this year that played a 7 game series. One of them had to lose, not choke but lose. As far as Ovi goes if Holtby is half as good as he normally is, the Caps move on.

Great players get it done when their team needs, them Ovechkin didn't get it done.

Btw, for all the people quoting my posts, I'm going to leave a disclaimer here.

I've only watched 12 hockey games my whole life, and 97% of those were the two times the Thunder Bolts from Tampa made the finals.

With that said, Ovechkin sucks.
